Ensuring production targets are met & bettered. Compliance with all Health and Safety Regulations and use of PPE. Ensure that all PPE issued is used correctly, stored correctly, maintained correctly and is replaced immediately when necessary. To be responsible for the management & discipline of all shift personnel as well as others whilst the senior manager on site thus ensuring compliance with respect to their job descriptions and other assigned duties. Compliance with all relevant in house Safety, Quality Assurance & Environmental management systems and to adhere to the Waste Management License conditions. Ensure that housekeeping on site is to the required standard. Assist Operations Manager in all aspects of his work and deputize in his absence. Management of all waste / recyclate issues. Ensure all wastes generated on site are disposed of efficiently in line with current legislation and company policy. To be responsible for the correct use of the permit to work system and thus ensuring repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment is carried out in a timely manner consistent with company policies. Supervise in conjunction with the operations manager materials in & out of the site, ensuring manpower is utilised to the full and materials are loaded & unloaded in line with current company policy. To complete and be responsible for production sheets, mass balances and stream costing input to the database. To provide sickness and holiday cover for other shift managers. To monitor & control holiday cover for shift and day workers ensuring there is cover at all times. To train staff and ensure training records are up to date. Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Operations Manager. To plan production schedules in consultation with Operations Manager. To write Operating Instructions in consultation and agreement with the Operations Manager. To prepare reports on plant performance as required by Operations Manager. To ensure sufficient storage is available for products / feedstock’s by regularly taking stock of waste, recyclates and waste storage areas.
