    We have been awarded contracts by our client for the provision of engineering and project management services for their Unconventional Gas Development Program. The program covers current field development in 3 different parts of Saudi Arabia with potential further field developments to be added later as the program develops and expands. The Unconventional Gas Development Program is focused on increasing gas production via the development of shale gas and tight gas resources in the Kingdom. The new sources of gas are intended to displace middle and heavy distillate fuels currently used in power generation within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    Overview / Responsibilities

    - Contribute to all safety design processes including HAZAN, HAZOP, SIL Classification and Safety Lifecycle

    - Organize, monitor, report on assigned work scope

    - Participate in the technical assessment and ratification of bids from prospective contractors and vendors

    - Interact with client, company management and other disciplines to develop the control, safety and monitoring systems and instrumentation philosophies per the above criteria

    - Develop FEED packages suitable for client review, Contractor bidding and selection

    - Review all relevant other discipline documentation and participate in the development of the P&IDs

    - Issue material requisitions to the Procurement Department for enquiry, order placement and for any subsequent revisions

    Job Description

    Amec Foster Wheeler are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Designer (Roads & Underground Utilities) in our office in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. We are currently looking for a person with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance on projects across the full life cycle, from studies and FEED to EPC, to ensure that the Company continues to differentiate itself from its competitors by delivering quality projects to our client's requirements.

    We have been awarded contracts by our client for the provision of engineering and project management services for their Unconventional Gas Development Program. The program covers current field development in 3 different parts of Saudi Arabia with potential further field developments to be added later as the Program develops and expands. The Unconventional Gas development program is focused on increasing gas production via the development of shale gas and tight gas resources in the Kingdom. The new sources of gas are intended to displace middle and heavy distillate fuels currently used in power generation within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    - Design and preparation of Underground Networks drawings using Microstation and 3D models using PDS (drainage systems, Fire water networks, potable water and irrigation water) in accordance with Amec Foster Wheeler Technical Work Practices and standards, International codes and standards, Plot Plans and latest Vendor Data

    - Carry Earthworks calculation, and develops roads and site development drawings

    - Coordinate work with other Designers

    - Check drawings / models in accordance with Amec Foster Wheeler Technical Work Practices and standards, International codes and standards, Plot Plans and latest Vendor Data

    - Ensure History files are up to date with respect to the deliverables responsible for

    - Coordinate with other disciplines as and when required

    - Coordinate with other Amec Foster Wheeler affiliated offices with respect to workshare

    - Keep abreast of the project strategy and key drivers. Maintain project familiarization with the project DDI (Discipline Design Instruction)

    - Participate on Model Reviews as and when required

    - Report changes to the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer

    - Software skills for 3D & 2D design (PDS / Microstation, Bentley InRoads, Civil 3D) is a must

    - Perform all assigned work to agreed standards for safety, health environment and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) performance

    - Participate in and advice on all design activities and initiatives, including provision of training / inductions and documentation review

    - Verify that all designs are to required standards and that the objectives of the project are met

    - Verify that the works is completed to the agreed schedule

    - The ideal candidate must have HNC / HND qualifications or a diploma as minimum requirement

    - 10 - 15 years of overall experience and 5 years in a similar position

    - Previous experience on Saudi Aramco Projects is highly considered

    - Knowledge in 2D and 3D drafting / modelling using Autocad and Microstation, with experience working in PDMS or PDS link software

    - Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive

    - Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills

    - Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win

    - Ability to promote an open and informal communication environment that aims at growing mutual trust and teamwork
