    Job Description

    The Company delivers the latest innovations in quantitative interpretation, geopressure and geomechanics enabled interpretation software and services with a fresh and flexible scientific approach to create subsurface value. They are investing heavily in their data analytics and Machine Learning capability and the role offers the opportunity to support these technologies. Their products and services, improve the analysis of well and seismic data, determine value and apply quantitative methods to predict rock, fluid and pressure properties. Their studies provide a thorough analysis of regional settings, trends and provide invaluable datasets that de-risk and inform drilling decisions for the entire subsurface team. The Company has an integrated team of world-renowned subject matter experts in Quantitative Geosciences. The increased demand and success of their services, products and regional studies has resulted in expansion and hence the need for this role. As a matrix organisation, you will interact with many teams to drive excellence of Services and revenue growth. In this new digital transformation age, keeping abreast of technological advancements both in and outside the oil industry could provide competitive edge. You will work closely with the other VP’s of Services (i.e. in Americas, EAME) to ensure that the Company is at the leading edge for both Services and Software. You will work closely with Sales, attending high level meetings (i.e. senior management at NOC’s/IOC’s) where you will leverage your technical strengths to promote quality of services and delivery, thereby driving Service revenues. You will work closely with your Technical Managers who will undertake and manage the day-to-day services. As required, you will be expected to be hands-on as well. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Vice President Services, your key tasks and responsibilities will include: • Take responsibility and ownership of the P&L for all Services across the Asia Pacific region. • Take direction from Executive Management and the Board. • Overall responsibility for the technical aspects of projects with the objective of delivering high-quality, cutting edge Services. • Become a senior go-to-person for technical advice and guidance re Services. • Provide leadership, both technically and operationally for Services. • Solutions: o Take responsibility for shaping and communicating regional best practice. Work with counterparts to ensure cutting edge Services. o Help mentor and train regional Quantitative Interpretation (QI) resources. o Work with regional QI Heads and members of the Global Service teams as required and where relevant. • Best practice: o Work with other QI services managers and teams to establish and deliver best practice workflows, process and QC etc. o Create novel and innovative solutions as required. • Software: Provide input to the software development teams to help develop and implement cutting edge solutions. • Content: Support advice to the regions regarding the Multi Client business line in developing and scoping new studies globally, and assist in marketing and selling as required. • Write and present conference and workshop papers. • Work with Marketing in creating marketing materials for the region. • Attend relevant trade shows both regionally and globally as required. • Working with your Technical Managers: o Lead and manage technically and operationally, a team of Geoscientists to carry out Services. o Ensure these projects are completed to clients’ requirements, to a high technical standard and in a timely and profitable manner. • Keep abreast of new technologies, workflows, challenges and drivers in the industry. Be proactive in sharing this knowledge across the region and globally. • Provide training and mentoring to your geoscientists, ensuring high levels of QC for service operations. Drive the need for continuous improvement. • Work closely with Sales and Business Development and clients to define and agree the technical scope of work and timings for reservoir and wellbore projects. • Provide input to the software development and product management groups, as software sales drive Services. • Work closely on agreed and approved special projects with partners and global groups. • Help retain and recruit technical resources as required. • Arrange delivery of technical training to clients as required. • Deliver high quality presentations and reports to clients (internal and external). • Actively promote the Company’s awareness and reputation for Services, content and software. • Act as an advisor to Executive management as required.
