Responsibilities: Reporting to the Global Communications Lead (Corporate Affairs), you will be responsible for: • Developing high-impact communications for the company’s executives and its Global Communications Operation. • Writing executive speeches and developing presentations. • Helping to drive the strategy for the leaderships’ external and internal engagements with stakeholders. • Raising the profile of executives as “thought leaders” in the chemical industry, and advancing the company’s global and national standing. • Developing high-impact communications for the company’s executives and its Global Communications Operation. • Engaging with senior leaders, including the CEO, to develop and write speeches for various internal and external audiences. • Undertaking original research on a range of topics as needed to inform the speech/lecture and soliciting inputs from across the organization as needed. • Managing a wide range of executive-level communications to be delivered on public platforms. • Researching audience expectations, event agenda and topics, and assist in focusing the purpose of each speech or lecture to tailor messages for audience appeal and impact. • Keeping abreast with company developments, relevant industry reports, and policy changes, to be able to advise company executives on brand messaging. • Analysing complex information, including statistics, financial information and other numerical, qualitative and quantitative data, to extract key messages for integration into speeches/lectures and other communications material as required. • Developing thought leadership articles for company executives for positioning in the media, conferences and town halls. • Drafting/reviewing/editing other substantive written material for the Executives as requested including statements, briefings, op-eds, opinions, articles, talking points, key messages and other written communications. This may include targeted messages for internal communications within the Company or for specific stakeholders and partners, as needed by the Executives. • Developing press releases, feature stories, articles based on the executive speeches. Work with senior managers and communications colleagues in various Bureaus to incorporate Executives messaging into their speeches and other communications materials. • Researching and evaluating external speaking opportunities and make suitable recommendations to the leadership. • Coordinating with the Executives and the Global Communications on publishing speeches and presentation content on the Company’s corporate website including maintaining an up-to-date archive of speeches. • Managing interfaces with Media and PR Agencies and process all related transactions. • Extracting key messages from speeches/presentations/articles for dissemination through social media channels, in close collaboration with the Global Communications. As part of a large communications team, this position requires strategic thinking with the ability to deliver consistently high quality, well-written, thought-provoking materials under pressure and tight deadlines. Preferences: The successful candidate will have • Batchelor’s degree in a relevant subject (ideally in a Communications-related field) essential. Masters or PhD preferred. • A minimum of 10 years’ communications/speech writing experience essential. • An understanding of the Petrochemical/Chemical industries advantageous. • The ability to analyse complex information to extract key messages essential. • Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to write high quality executive level speeches and develop engaging presentations essential. • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage with senior leaders to ensure all written speeches and communications are on-point. • Strong research skills – the ability to determine important information for speeches/lectures as well as audience expectations, event agendas etc. • Previous experience in preparing press releases essential. • Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to communicate with the media, PR agencies, conference organisers etc. • A strong understanding of the media landscape and where best to position specific articles, press releases etc. • Strong understanding of social media channels and how they can advance the company’s global and national standing essential. • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous. • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems. • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals. • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
