A Day Rate of £400 - £500 The Oil Operator has embarked on moving their subsurface data to their proprietary built PPDM model. This data is to be migrated from many of their subsurface data stores such as Techlog, Studio, Openworks to name but a few.     URGENT: An Oil and Gas Operator seek a Business Analyst to work at their Central London office supporting a major new project relating to the movement of their global seismic data to the cloud. In this role, you will manage and analyse requirements from various regions, facilitate workshops and manage global stakeholder relations. You will also provide PMO support (Project Management Office). Applicants are invited with a Business Analysis background combined with Subsurface knowledge (preferably some seismic understanding) and strong stakeholder relations management. An understanding of agile project delivery is also key. This is a 6 month contract initially but there is strong potential for extension as this is a major high profile global project. A Day Rate of £450 - £550. The Oil Operator has embarked on this highly intensive capital project of moving all of their seismic data to the MS Azure Cloud. This “Seismic Shift” project is now at the stage of rollout and liaison with the developments teams and solution deployment planning. Initially this initiative will be deployed across their UK and Houston hubs and then it will be deployed to their regional offices in CIS, Middle East, and Africa. In this role, you will need to manage and facility workshops and also be able to separate different user stories into tangible, ROI, value added against “nice to have” initiatives. Responsibilities: This role encompasses many functions including (but not limited to): • Engagement with regional and functional Subsurface Information stakeholders to better understand the needs and functionality of future systems and processes. • Review and refinement of requirements compared with the desired functionality • Development and deployment of revised storage and access standards • Development of strategy and plan to deliver improved Subsurface Information management practices • Contribution of solution requirements and creation of GAP analysis for each region to assist in planning the Seismic Shift rollout programme and liaison with developments team • Solution deployment planning (during both pilot and primary roll-out) • Strategic coordination and governance of multiple activities and workstreams • Definition and management of Integrated Programme Plan • Communication and reporting to Senior Management • Development and reporting of key metrics and activity value assessments • Improving the interconnectivity between existing programmes of work • The provision of expertise to SIM (Seismic Information Management) and Digital Factory Leadership Teams • Good communication skills (with technical and non-technical audiences). • Comfortable presenting to senior leadership in high-profile work • Provide feedback / input into Seismic Shift and Digital Factory Communication workstream • Assist in prioritizing work, following Agile/Kanban processes, create, update and maintain EPICS, FEATURES and TASKs in Microsoft DevOps Preferences: The successful candidate will have: • An academic background in an IT, EarthSciences or a Business related subject preferred. • A background in business analysis - essential preferably a minimum of 5 years’ experience. • Previous experience working on a large global rollout project highly desired. • An understanding of subsurface data essential preferably Seismic data. • Previous experience involved in cloud deployment project desired. • A good understanding of Agile project methodologies essential. • Strong soft skills essential – ability to manage senior stakeholders and business users who may have strong views and opinions is key. • Assertive but diplomatic inpidual – need to separate different user stories into Tangible, ROI, value added against “nice to have” initiatives. • Experience using Sharepoint desired • Experience building reports using PowerBI desired. • Strong administration skills essential – taking minutes, good documentation, dissemination of succinct information, liaison with global project teams and functions, and chasing actions. • Highly proactive with the ability to uncover relevant information across many departments. • Must be process driven - ability to display a structured and methodical approach to business analysis and problem solving essential. • Highly professional – can deliver objectives in a timely and professional manner. • Highly motivated, self-starting inpidual who can manage their own time and deliver to tight project deadlines. • Highly analytical/methodical – the ability to understand the problem, the tools available and to deliver the solution. • Excellent interpersonal skills essential – the ability to interact effectively across all stakeholders and the diplomacy to secure the information required. • Excellent communications skills essential (both written and oral English), with the ability to present findings.
