    Our client is currently recruiting for the position of EHS Superintendent, based in Ethiopia on a 4/4 rotation.

    Job Description

    To monitor and supervise the implementation of business Ethiopia policies and procedures on all field operations sites. To provide advice, support and training in the development and implementation of operational safety plans and procedures in compliance with EH&S MS.

    - Support to implement the requirements of business EH&S MS in compliance with business IMS in seismic, drilling and civil operations, and generating interface EH&S bridging document with principle contractors;

    - Provide technical advice and support in relation to the development, implementation and monitoring of EH&S plans and procedures;

    - Advise on issues of compliance to EH&S policies and local regulatory EH&S requirements industrial best practices. Carries out monitoring, inspection, reporting and resolving audit issues in this regard.

    - Provide mentoring and coaching to field staff as required, and work with EHS trainer in ensuring that development of Trainee's is supported fully

    - Act as custodian for PPE store in Addis Ababa

    - Active monitoring and periodic reporting on EHS activities and EHS performance indicators both for business and Contractor activities.

    - Act as country focal point for business Safety Rules Champion

    - Investigate incidents inline with the business procedure and ensure actions tracked to close out.

    Skills & Experience

    - Graduate degree in science subjects

    - Core level of EHS qualifications such as NEBOSH international/national certificate (This requirement will be assessed on case to case basis for Ethiopian Nationals).

    - Proven experience of managing EHS in Exploration and Production operations with emphasis on field activity related to onshore EHS Management Systems

    - Proven experience of managing EHS in remote Onshore drilling operations for at least 5 years

    - Knowledge of Identification & Control measures of operational risks/hazards in E&P sites

    - Can deliver basic EH&S trainings

    - Good level of computer skills

    - Identification & Control measures of operational risks/hazards in EP sites - Lifting equipment, working at heights, plant isolation/PTW systems, Road/Air/sea transport safety, Chemicals, PPE, ER systems/equipment, Fire Protection, Office safety procedures, Welding safety, etc

    - Passion for EHS. Positive and enthusiastic, Committed to Excellence

    - High personal integrity

    - Flexible approach and able to work under pressure.

    - Willingness to work in harsh, demanding environments

    - Promotion of EHS values and business behaviours.

    - Good communicator with an open and constructive styles

    - Team player

    Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Field Operations Superintendent, based in Ethiopia.

    Job Description

    An experienced Field Operations Superintendent is required to join our client on a 4/4 rotational contract in Ethiopia, please note that candidates should be willing to work in an Extreme Hardship location.

    The purpose of FOS job is to be the person in charge of the drilling accommodation camp and laydown area and to coordinate all on-site activities so that the camp provides safe, secure and comfortable life support for its residents and represents a safe and cost-effective proposition. The position is the eyes and ears of the DSV at the accommodation camp and is essentially the DSV's Administration Officer.

    - Act as the field responsible team leader/person in charge for camp-based emergencies

    - Oversee security in line with the local security plan

    - Oversee journey management in line with Land Transport Safety procedures and ensure that a robust POB count is always available on site

    - Undertake evacuation drills

    - Oversee/Coordinate effective operation and allocation of all shared utilities (clinic, waste disposal, water, fuel, vehicles, cranes, VSAT/comms, etc.). Mediate conflict resolution as required

    - Oversee/Coordinate effective meet and greet and associated security arrangements at the relevant airstrip

    - Undertake weekly EHS inspections of contractor camps and facilities

    - Coordinate with drilling/civils/contractor field EHS supers in order to assure a safe and operable camp environment

    - Assure that contractors' camps are constructed in line with the Civils Master plan

    - Assure that desired changes to the camp are subject to the appropriate level of change control and value assurance

    - Provide the DSV with required information which allows reporting as an integrated regional site

    - Assure that any contractors' local hires are in line with policies and practices

    Skills & Experience

    - Leadership skills - the incumbent is in an all care no responsibility position where the role holder coordinates and accomplishes tasks with limited line authority but by personal influence and charisma

    - Organisational skills - required to coordinate a wide range of activities, civils, security, medical, logistics, camp operations, fuel distribution, vehicle allocation, etc

    - Communication skills - the incumbent is required to chair daily meetings, communicate with the direct line manager, the DSV, coordinate with various line managers in Addis as well as influence contract staff at site to achieve deliverables.

    - Experience in a similar role

    - Exploration experience in remote location

    This is a contract position.
