    Key Requirements

    BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent, eg: BTEC HND). Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (AMIEE). Has 9 years' experience in the hydrocarbon or petrochemical processing industry. Has spent at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity associated with electrical operation & maintenance of heavy power equipment, generation, distribution, large motors etc. In addition, has at least 2 years' experience as a 'senior authorized person' with responsibility for switching, isolating and testing high voltage equipment up to 11 kV. Has a good appreciation of Electrical Engineering design and a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of Engineering principles. Has a proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of competent and motivated Electrical Technician-Engineers and Technicians. Has in-depth experience of fault-finding, maintenance and repair of power distribution and generation equipment. Has a proven ability to function as part of a multi-crafted maintenance team drawn from Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines. Computer literate, familiar with EMP AC (maintenance management), e-mail and the usual word processing, database and spreadsheet packages used in the company. Is fully familiar with European and USA standards for installation and maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas. Is fully familiar with relay-testing procedures and requirements. Is capable of conducting failure investigations and producing reports with recommendations for corrective and preventive action. English-language skills equivalent to Bapco Band 6 & is able to write technical reports.

    Job Description

    To provide a safe, successful, timely and economical Electrical Maintenance & Repair Service for all Electrical Equipment within his area of responsibility. Plans, organises, directs, coordinates and administers the operation of his respective Electrical Maintenance Section at interest. Ensures that the records in EMP AC (computerised maintenance management system) are kept up to date for the equipment under his control. Plans staff development to meet the Group's current and future needs. Job Summary: 1.Directs and administers his respective Electrical Section at Interest including preparation of the Group's annual budget and subsequent management of funds . 2.Ensures provision of an efficient, safe and economical Electrical repair & maintenance service in accordance with the Company's maintenance policies and safety procedures. 3.Attends to urgent operational equipment failures. Prepares failure reports and includes recommendations to prevent such failures re-occurring. Ensures that the revenue loss caused by production deferment due to failure of electrical equipment is minimized. Ensures continuous improvement of availability through elimination of repetitive failures. 4.History - Records in Maintenance Management System details of work done, faults found, parts replaced, time spent by whom to provide future data for analysis or audit. Makes recommendations for future maintenance and repairs. 5.Trouble-shooting - Alone or with craft or IMI assistance, investigate possible or known plant problems to identify and provide potential solutions to availability, reliability or integrity problems. 6.In-house Health & Safety- Leads or participates in Daily Tool Box Talks, Monthly safety meetings, Annual fire and safety training, First Aid training. Medical check-ups, all to ensure the well-being of staff and plant. Other Duties & Special Studies - Participate & contributes in occasional ad-hoc working parties, investigations, HAZOPs, Compliance Audits, Electrical Safety Audits and Training.

    Generate a weekly & daily maintenance schedule by coordinating plans, prioritizing work, allocating appropriate manpower, materials, tools & equipment for the action of the District Zone Supervisors. As Process focal point, receive work requests (WRs) from Owner Departments, distribute WRs between Zone/ Craft Supervisors for scoping & estimating, rout major maintenance work to the Planning Engineer. On return of scoped WRs, complete planning and enters data into EMPAC system to ensure continuity in the system. Check & prepare work estimates for the labor, materials & equipment required. Continuously reviews information provided and recommends changes if appropriate. Review work priorities at daily planned and/or adhoc meetings and liaise with Owner & Maintenance Departments particularly to discuss and schedule urgent work to ensure accuracy of information and operational needs are met. Optimize the use of Computerized System, ensuring that work is correctly estimated, approved, planned & scheduled in EMPAC to provide a valid, auditable database. Prepares Safe Work Permits to ensure work is carried out safely, without delay. Regularly obtains status updates from Workshops and contractors & co-ordinates the supply of support crafts like staging & rigging to ensure availability when required. Update & reviews the backlog of work orders & requests for each Districts to ensure adequate resources are available and the most urgent work is progressed.
