Key Requirements

BEng, BSc or higher technical qualification in a relevant subject (geology, civil engineering, environmental science etc.)
Chartered or be working towards Chartered status.
At least six years of relevant experience, ideally gained in ground investigation,interpretation risk assessment and reporting.
The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with good analysis and technical capability in MS Office. Experience of AutoCAD, environmental risk assessment tools and modeling software and geotechnical assessment and modelling would also be desirable.

Job Description

Design and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental assignments including (but not limited to): desk studies; Phase 2 ground investigations; human health, groundwater and gas risk assessments; factual and interpretative reporting; and preparation of Remediation Options Aprasials and Method Statements.
Review factual and interpretative reports
Project management, client liaison, preparing proposal documents and invoicing
Preparing and approving Health and Safety documentation
Provide geotechnical and geo-environmental advice and assistance as required on an ad hoc basis to a variety of clients, including house builders, main contractors and project managers. You will also negotiate and liaise with relevant regulatory authorities as necessary.
Working knowledge of British Standards, regulations, Eurocodes, Industry Guidance and NHBC Standards, and a thorough understanding of human health and controlled waters detailed risk assessment methodologies.
Provide advice and mentoring to more junior staff within the team, as well as advice and assistance to members of other teams.

    This role will deliver Noise and Vibration assessment to clients and internal stake holders, undertake environmental investigations and act as support to senior technical specialists across the group.

    Based in either Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle this role will serve to
    support internal and external projects for the business and therefore flexibility to travel and a valid UK driving license are essential for this position.

    In order to apply for this role, you must have:

    *Bachelors (essential) in a core science and IoA Diploma in acoustics;
    *Consultancy experience;
    *Experience of noise monitoring surveys, environmental noise assessment, and planning guidance;
    *Working knowledge of legislation and guidelines relevant to acoustics sector;
    *Experience in the use of noise modelling software.

    Ideally you will also be:

    *Actively working towards Full IoA membership;
    *Experienced in supporting onshore infrastructure projects, industrial sites, offshore wind turbines and other large-scale project settings.
    *Experienced in work outside of a consultancy as either an industry professional or regulator
