Job Description

My Client is an international Service company who specialize in Exploration and Production Oil and Gas projects. The Client is looking for a Petrophysicist to be based in Kuwait for a long term project. Due to new project, my client is looking to expand their team. The Petrophysicist will initially set up on a 3 month renewable contract.

The Petrophysicist will be required to:
-Experience with IOCs (Conoco, chevron ,shell, BP, etc.)
-Experience in tight oil and unconventional reservoirs
-Experience in carbonates mainly and sandstone reservoirs
-Worked in a multidiscipline team
-Experience in the development of complex reservoirs and fields that are newly transferred from exploration to development
-Experience and hands on with Geolog software
-Knowledgeable in rock physics
-Prepares logging programs and conduct the interpretation of theses logs, does cross sections, saturation height function, selects the RDT points and its interpretation, collection of bottom hole samples.
-Witnesses the logging jobs on the well site and coordinate for the jobs pre and post.
-More than 15 years of relevant experience


The Petrophysicist will be required to provide leadership for the standardization, conformance and consistency of petrophysical data and interpretation of subsurface data.

The Petrophysicist is required to mobilise to Kuwait at short notice to start the project. Accommodation and economy flights will be provided. In addition a driver for local travel will be required by my client.

    Processing Geophysicist – Oasis Montaj (UXO) Location: Bulgaria Offshore 4/4 Job Status: Contract – 3 months Start Date: ASAP Interview Date: ASAP Open To: All Nationalities Job Overview: URGENT: A global market leader in the disposal of unexploded ordnance and other hazardous materials seeks a Processing Geophysicist with a good knowledge of Geosoft’s Oasis Montaj software, especially the UXO module. Working offshore on a large vessel in the Black Sea, you will import, check and process magnetometer data. Applicants invited with a geophysical background and good expertise in using the UXO module of the Oasis Montaj software. Previous experience of processing magnetic data advantageous. Must be able to be deployed offshore urgently until the 8th of Nov when there is a Crew Change - thereafter 4 weeks on/off. Urgent role so please apply today or ASAP. The Company has 20+ years’ experience operating in regions affected by landmines, UXO or terrorist activity. They deliver disposal and protection systems making sure the area is clean and safe for future activity. The Company are acting as a Company Representative for their end client. As such, they are responsible for all aspects of the survey deliverables. The survey vessel is large, having 2 ROV’s on-board. You will work initially until the 8th of November, taking over the processing activities from the current incumbent and thereafter you will work 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off. The contract is estimated to run for approximately 3 months so you will have a few rotations. Please note that you are not paid whilst off. The Company is responsible for checking that the survey data is acceptable. Therefore, you will examine approximately 10% of the data. You will import it into the Oasis Montaj software, process it and check for anomalies, hot spots etc. Using the UXO module, you identify and eliminate targets that do not require further investigates. Where you have identified potential UXO, you will work alongside 2 UXO experts to decide what further action is required (e.g. reshooting the survey over certain areas, re-processing, larger sampling…). You will deliver a high level of professionalism throughout all your tasks - contribute and adhere to the Company’s quality assurance, health and safety policies and procedures whilst on the vessel.     Working within the Singapore Geotechnical Team, you will be primarily involved in providing geoenvironmental and geotechnical support on a variety of multidisciplinary engineering projects in Singapore as well as SE Asia and Glocally. The role is set in a multi project, multidisciplinary, multicultural environment. There will be ample opportunity to develop existing knowledge and potentially a technical specialism within the group framework.

    Looking for candidates with broad Geotechnical experience, however, good expsure to Rail, Tunnelling, Buildings and underground built environment would be a strong advantage.

    The role will involve providing input into geoenvironmental and geotechnical assessments and design from desk study through to construction. Typical responsibilities will include:

    - Design and specification of ground investigations and site supervision for both geotechnical and contaminated land investigations;

    - Production of drawings, specifications and reports and the supervision of junior members of the team

    - Accountable for quality of own work to time and budget and those of team members as applicable

    - Daily contact with other members of the group and other Arup staff

    - Regular contact with site investigation contractors and external agencies

    - Developing contacts with Clients

    - Travel including some opportunity for overseas work

    The candidate must be a team player with good interpersonal skills, an ability to work with minimum supervision and be keen to provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced members of the team.
