CONTROL AND INSTRUMENT ENGINEER – CONTRACT – SURREY

Our Client, a leading international engineering, construction, and services company, is seeking an Control and Instrument Engineer to work in their Surrey offices.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Recent experience and knowledge of the below are required:
• Previous experience working at a Senior/Principal level
• Pre-FEED/FEED specification preparation experience
• Familiarity with Shell DEPs is advantageous.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Carry out gap analysis of client standards across multiple operating groups and develop specification proposals acceptable to all groups.
• Subsequently to prepare company-wide standards in line with results of analysis and client consultation (workshop format) and vendor input.
• Initial scope is for ICSS elements - PCS, ESD, F&G, followed in first wave by valves (CVs & S/D) and cables.

START DATE: ASAP

DURATION: 6 months + could go longer

RATE: £55 per hour Ltd Company rate

Identify and follow-up actions. • Analysis, recommendation and optimization of installation and logistics concepts for offshore logistics and installation. • The analysis and definition of installation sequences, weather limitations, weather down time, etc., for all activities related to Transport and Installation. • Negotiate and manage installation contracts with focus on the technical requirements. • Take responsibility specific sub-work package as required. • Promoting a strong, clear and positive health and safety culture for all primary activities, and secondary activities including interfaces. • Implement offshore installation management procedures and ensure compliance in particular with marine, lifting and simultaneous operations. • Reviewing method statements and risk assessments to ensure company standards are maintained; • Estimating Transport and Installation costs. • Analyse all potential Transport and Installation contractors’ capabilities, according to a preferred Installation Strategy, defining constraints, risks and mitigation measures. • Preparation of Transport and Installation requirements, considering the potential logistics setups and characteristics of the Marshalling and different manufacturing ports. • Involvement in port logistics and onshore handling, review and evaluation of transport and installation concepts. • Analyse maritime transport routes for each potential port to be used during the project. • Preparation of Transport and Installation ITT’s documentation. • Evaluation of Transport and Installation ITT’s bidders’ responses. • Provide technical support to negotiations with the pre-selected bidders. • Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Phase Execution plan and BSH Releases documentation. • Coordinating installation activities on site; ensuring system in place to record daily facts for the purpose of contract variations, weather allowances and incentive schemes with the contractor. • Managing the approval process with the Marine Warranty Surveyor and their Contractor(s); • Organizing and attending inspections of vessels provided for the projects; • Planning 24/7 operations; including rotation of client representatives and installation management. • Time to time attendance to meetings, and participation in the required discussions, at the project offices, as well as at the Contractor’s offices. • Time to time attendance to supervise and monitor Contractor’s activities at ports and offshore site. • General technical and management support to activities related to the offshore wind farm, as requested. • Coordination with the relevant Department(s) for assurances, use, compliance and production of company standards, knowledge transfer, line management, etc. • Production of regular reports.
