The Company delivers geophysical acquisition services across land, air and sea. They project manage, acquire, process and undertake the interpretation of a variety of high-res geosciences data, such as gravity, magnetics, hyperspectral imaging, LiDAR and radiometric data. Working with government bodies to major oil and gas operators across the hydrocarbon and mining industries, they deliver a hydrocarbon & minerals exploration time line, from frontier discovery through to asset identification and development.

The Company’s data processing services are conducted in-house or on field location to create an accurate image of exploration targets. This data can be further enhanced by their experienced interpreters. For processing, they use Geosoft’s “Oasis Montaj” technologies combined with proprietary software that provides increased resolution and exploration insight. Their research and development department is committed to seeking innovative answers to geophysical challenges through next generation technological tools and continued proprietary software development.

With the continued recognition of gravity gradiometry data in the highlighting of geological prospectivity and the comparative low costs in relation to seismic acquisition, the Company has done well during this downturn. They have witnessed of late, an increase in project enquires and are now looking at their expansion requirements.
The Company are very flexible in their work/life balance and will attempt to accommodate individual’s work schedules. It provides for a friendly environment, a culture of learning and knowledge transfer.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel internationality and undertake processing at the acquisition locations. The Company operate predominately in Africa at present but have also undertaken Survey Services elsewhere. It is estimated that you will travel for at least 3 weeks in every 2 months and with time off in lieu you could expect to be out of the office for 4-6 months a year. When on location, the Company will arrange all your travel and pay for hotel, food and other expenses. You will also be entitled to a Tax Free daily allowance.



Responsibilities: Reporting to the Data Processing Manager your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Working alongside experienced team members, you will become competent in the Company’s proprietary and industry software, processes and practices.
• Perform appropriate geophysical data processing of raw field data such as gravity, magnetics, hyperspectral imaging, LiDAR and radiometric data.
• Strive to deliver a high level of professionalism throughout your project delivery – adhere to the Company’s quality assurance scheme and within agreed timescales for the work.
• Maintain accurate and complete logs of all operations performed in the generation of deliverable geophysical data.
• Manage and report on processing workflow of projects as assigned and present results to project groups.
• Apply, maintain and develop methods to optimise quality of the Company’s results.
• Initiate and participate in problem solving and method development activity.
• Be proactive in developing your geophysical understanding, technologies used, and work practices within the Company and in the general market.

The Company recognise that you may not have the required processing background in gravity and magnetics and you will be supported and mentored by senior processors in the team. As you progress, you will be expected to fast-track your technical learning and take on more responsibilities and independent project work.     Our client, a global oilfield services company, is currently looking to hire a Coring Engineer for offshore operations based out of Aberdeen. 

    Skills / Knowledge required: 

    Develop and demonstrate proficiency in the skill profile required for the delivery of Coring Systems services at the well site. Successfully complete additional advanced technical training and assigned well site development programs.Strong communication and inter-personal skills;excellent customer awareness. Ability to relate to well site personnel at all levels, strong team member, and demonstrate leadership capability.

    Duties / Responsibilities: 

    Under broad direction provides direct instruction and supervision to junior Field Engineers on day-to-day wellsite work and activities. Provides advice and direction to external customer and third-party wellsite colleagues as appropriate. Provides resolution to a perse scope and range of complex problems at the wellsite where analysis of data requires having a broad knowledge of the product line's tool(s)and/or service(s). Work is evaluated upon completion by a Field Supervisor (where appropriate), local Operations Management and the external Customer to ensure objectives have been met. Acts as a project leader and mentors junior field engineers.Expected to maintain frequent intra-organizational and external customer contacts with a high degree of professionalism. Executes other related duties as assigned.
