Indicatively, the successful candidate will be required to:

• Monitor and advise during contract negotiation and award stage;
• Assist the Legal & Contracts Departmental Manager to develop, implement and maintain Legal & Contracts strategies, including the development of corporate template documentation and other related policies and procedures;
• Advise on and assist in the formulation of standard and specific procurement terms for subcontract supplies & services;
• Monitor contractual matters on sites within the Region and provide recommendations to Regional Management in relation to contractual issues;
• Preparation of formal claims for the recovery of time and costs losses suffered by the company and advise on all issues affecting the financial outcome of the project; Actively support the building of, and maintaining, positive customer relations;
• Ensure compliance with respective corporate policies and procedures

Experience/Qualifications
• University degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
• Chartered status in either discipline would be preferable
• Post graduate academic qualifications in Construction Law or related qualification would also be preferable
• Excellent command of the English language
• Previous experience of 10 years, at least five of which should be in a similar position (preferably in the Middle East area)
• Thorough knowledge of industry standard contracts such as FIDIC Contract Conditions for EPC Contracts
• Excellent knowledge of Contract Law principles
• Knowledge of Law in GCC States (including KSA) desirable
• Good experience of claims/contract disputes in construction
• Computer literacy
