Job Description

LEAD POWER ESTIMATOR required by our client, an International Oil and Gas Operator, to be hired on a permanent basis, located in Dallas, Texas.


POSITION SCOPE

General Information/Job Summary Senior estimator covering all aspects of estimating. This includes both direct and indirect estimates, quantity take offs, unit rates, wage rates, material dollars, capital equipment, subcontracts, change management support, project benchmarking, proposal support, and project management support.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain project estimates as assigned including drawing takeoff and input to MC2
Develop unit rates for power, nuclear, and maintenance projects
Understand the project/program, customer, and RFQ requirements
Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses or other venues
Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
Perform risk analysis
Create, present, and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
Other duties as assigned


EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

10-15 years of experience in Power and EPC industry
Multi discipline construction field experience highly preferred
Proven experience as estimator or similar position
Advanced knowledge of cost engineering work process, procedures, and techniques
Familiarity with financial and project management principles
In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
Exquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindset
Proficient in relevant software (Timberline, MC2, HCSS HeavyBid, etc.)
Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
Thoroughness and reliability
Excellent organizational skills
BSc/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant discipline
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be an asset
Advanced understanding of EPC industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
Occasional travel required for jobsite visits
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Professional, ethical, and team player willing to grow with the company
