Job Description

NES Global Talent is seeking for an experienced Cost Estimator with experience in leading middle and large scale projects (TIC of EUR 30m to 300m) in the downstream refinery and chemical/petrochemical markets. We are looking for candidates who are currently living in the Netherlands or Belgium with superior leadership skills in a complex multi-office environment with an ability to provide innovative solutions to clients is our objective. FEED and EPC & EPCm experience are both desirable.

Key requirements for a Senior Cost Estimator

The role requires an experienced and driven person who has proficient knowledge of the industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of assigned services and resources, as well as providing the appropriate expertise to ensure that the Estimating team meet all client expectations and requirements within agreed timelines, budget and quality.  

Technical Skills

Some aspects of the role include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyses specifications including sketches, blueprints, bills of material or sample layouts, and calculates costs using
  • labour and material pricing schedules and historical data
  • Computes cost estimates of raw materials or subcontracted work and labour
  • Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex estimates
  • Represents organization as a prime contact, interacting with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters
  • Contributes to development of new techniques and standards; considered an expert in organization
  • Develops processes that require innovation and ingenuity
  • Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings related to specific operations
  • Maintaining strong business relationships
  • The role will also require you to work flexibly
You will have a willingness to work collaboratively in the Cost Management Services team, as well as with specialists from other technical disciplines and as part of a joint venture or alliance. You will demonstrate commercial acumen and set demanding goals for self and others.  

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:
  • Strong background and experience in professional Estimating services
  • Proficient using Aspen Cost Estimating tools is an advantage
  • Experience developing and building business relationships at a senior level
  • Bachelor’s degree (technical discipline)

They provide EPC & EPCm solutions to the Petrochemical, Chemical, Oil and Gas and Refining markets. They currently have a staff strength of +1000 employees and plan to grow at a quicker rate by end of 2018.
