Key Requirements

You will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in heavy industrial capital projects with diverse experience in engineering, procurement and construction with an emphasis on estimating and cost control. It is highly desirable if some of the experience years were devoted to oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, pipeline, or power generation projects.

You will be familiar with computer/software estimating programs (e.g., Oracle).

You will have knowledge of project management and construction practices, including materials and equipment.

You must be capable of evaluating and consulting on cost control or estimating problems where precedents are lacking, or on problems where high levels of specialized knowledge are required.

Job Description

You will perform the following: Provide professional expertise and high level consultation in the resolution of complex estimating and cost engineering problems. Develop, in conjunction with relevant supervisory personnel, comprehensive cost control procedures for specific projects as requested by Project Management and Construction. Provide budget and conceptual estimates for the client's capital projects as requested. Analyse cost reports for on-going projects to identify potential problem areas. Report findings to immediate supervisor and/or proponent as applicable. Evaluate cost overrun situations and provide detailed recommendations for corrective action. Provide special studies related to current and/or long range impacts, such as cost escalation and productivity. Keep up to date with developments in the estimating and cost engineering fields, and with construction practices and trends worldwide, with emphasis on Saudi Arabia

    As a geophysicist in an unconventional asset you will support the multidisciplinary team in identifying exploration and development areas for resource identification and maturation using all your geophysical skillsets and tools. You will also support the operations team in selecting appropriate completions decisions (placement and orientation of fracs) and monitoring fracture stimulation operations with microseismic. Candidates are expected to be able to interpret seismic reflection data, recommend and incorporate all aspects of seismic modeling. Use of advanced seismic inversion and amplitude work will be an asset. The geophysicist will partner with geologists in preparing drilling recommendations. You will be expected to recommend seismic acquisition programs including the determination of seismic acquisition and/or reprocessing parameters • Apply technical geophysical tools to assist in prospect creation, evaluation, and maturation of unconventional resources (shale gas and liquids and tight gas) • Use seismic interpretation, analysis, modeling, petrophysical tools and integration software packages to partner with development geologists in preparing drill recommendations. • Understand strengths and weaknesses of different packages.
