The Analytical Chemist's primary role is to support research and development projects and provide technical services to the corporate operation, producing representative data generated by pilot plants. He/she must be able to engineer solutions related to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. The applicant will be responsible for identifying, implementing, modifying, operating, and maintaining online analyzers and associated analytical methods. Also, be able to calculate and manage analytical data in the format required for the pilot plant test follow-up by the process engineering team. As a member of the Pilot Plant Engineering & Operation Unit, you will provide input to the project leader for the on-board integration of the in-line or online analyzers during the design phase of the project. You will work with the Control Engineering team on implementing and deploying the sequential sampling system and analytical result management toward the Plant Information database (PI), using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). On a daily basis, the chemist provides day-to-day support to the operation, insuring readiness of the online analyzer asset, which includes conducting the calibration and checking required by the ISO17025 standard. As required by this standard, you will handle the maintenance plan and documentation of the activity. This may include developing standard operating procedures and working with the analyzer providers to develop the maintenance procedures. The applicant will develop a resource sustainability master plan, transferring competency to operators, technicians and scientists, through in-house on-the-job training. On the yearly Operating Plan aspect, you will be in charge of aligning the analyzer asset according to the operation requirement, developing planning, managing expenditures, and insure asset readiness scheduling according to identified projects. On a regular basis, you will insure effective communication with the R&D project teams, participating in the design of experiments, and proposing analytical solutions. You must be able to direct activities to ensure that new pilot plant construction, installation, and operational testing conform with specifications, recognized international standards, and R&D project requirements. The applicant must maintain effective communication with other team members; and develop and comply with corporate quality assurance protocols. The successful candidate will be a driving force to support existing and future technical service and research activities on biofilms, biofouling, plugging, microbial souring, MIC investigation, assessment, prediction, mitigation, real-time monitoring technologies, and microbial control strategies for both surface and subsurface systems, oilfield chemicals investigations, and field applications. The successful candidate is expected to apply both conventional microbiology and molecular microbiology technologies to solve the microbiological challenges in various Saudi Aramco systems.

Education A B.S. degree in a science/engineering discipline as appropriate for the area of expertise for the assigned jobs Experience Ten (10) years of experience in research development, refining, or the chemical industry, or similar hydrocarbon industries. Other industrial site experiences will be considered; pilot plant competency is a plus. Seven (7) years of experience in a substantive industrial, technological, or laboratory area relevant to the jobs assignment. Other You will have achieved recognition in your field through publication in significant technical journals and have a history of active participation in technical society activities. A good command of oral and written English.
