    Key Requirements

    The role requires an active approach to ensure that offshore installation works, especially piling of mono-piles, are carried out in accordance with the contracts and consents, and optimized with regards to time, costs and QHSE, including evaluation and recommendation of installation methods. The person in the role will also support the team, project and company in technical, management and administration tasks as requested.

    Job Description

    The job holder will be required to: • Understand and analyse all pile drivability aspects (and consents topics including but not limited to noise). Identify and follow-up actions. • Analysis, recommendation and optimization of installation and logistics concepts for offshore logistics and installation. • The analysis and definition of installation sequences, weather limitations, weather down time, etc., for all activities related to Transport and Installation. • Negotiate and manage installation contracts with focus on the technical requirements. • Take responsibility specific sub-work package as required. • Promoting a strong, clear and positive health and safety culture for all primary activities, and secondary activities including interfaces. • Implement offshore installation management procedures and ensure compliance in particular with marine, lifting and simultaneous operations. • Reviewing method statements and risk assessments to ensure company standards are maintained; • Estimating Transport and Installation costs. • Analyse all potential Transport and Installation contractors’ capabilities, according to a preferred Installation Strategy, defining constraints, risks and mitigation measures. • Preparation of Transport and Installation requirements, considering the potential logistics setups and characteristics of the Marshalling and different manufacturing ports. • Involvement in port logistics and onshore handling, review and evaluation of transport and installation concepts. • Analyse maritime transport routes for each potential port to be used during the project. • Preparation of Transport and Installation ITT’s documentation. • Evaluation of Transport and Installation ITT’s bidders’ responses. • Provide technical support to negotiations with the pre-selected bidders. • Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Phase Execution plan and BSH Releases documentation. • Coordinating installation activities on site; ensuring system in place to record daily facts for the purpose of contract variations, weather allowances and incentive schemes with the contractor. • Managing the approval process with the Marine Warranty Surveyor and their Contractor(s); • Organizing and attending inspections of vessels provided for the projects; • Planning 24/7 operations; including rotation of client representatives and installation management. • Time to time attendance to meetings, and participation in the required discussions, at the project offices, as well as at the Contractor’s offices. • Time to time attendance to supervise and monitor Contractor’s activities at ports and offshore site. • General technical and management support to activities related to the offshore wind farm, as requested. • Coordination with the relevant Department(s) for assurances, use, compliance and production of company standards, knowledge transfer, line management, etc. • Production of regular reports. KNOWLEDGE & METHODOLOGIES • Must have sound knowledge of Offshore Wind Installation, Heavy Lift Operations and Marine Operations. • Experience on monopiles installation is required. • Understanding of German offshore wind regulations (BSH) would be assessed positively. • Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal, particularly related to multicultural relationships, and ability to present effectively to management teams. • Strong understanding of H&S legislation applicable to offshore operations. • Experience of managing interfaces of multidisciplinary teams spread across multiple locations. • Advanced user of Microsoft office applications. • Intermediate user (at least) of CAD software. • Flexible approach to working hours in order to ensure the delivery of planned and unplanned activities. Academic studies: The job holder as a minimum should be educated to an engineering orientated Bachelors (BSc/BEng) degree level, and demonstrate significant experience in a relevant discipline. EXPERIENCE Minimum five years offshore wind experience for the relevant requested scope of Foundations Installation is required, especially mono-piles installation, alternatively significant experience in a relevant discipline. TRAINING GWO certificate or equivalent qualification will be positively assessed. WORK LOCATION The role will be based in London at Clients office. Occasional travel will be required to other offices in London, Glasgow, Berlin or Madrid. Also, travels may be required to Contractor/Bidder’s facilities, and to other relevant sites of other company projects. LANGUAGE The project language is English and it is expected that the job holder is capable of writing e-mails, holding discussions and reading contractual documentation to a fluent level. Knowledge of German language will be positively assessed.
