    Job Description

    Ensures that fixed equipment and piping inspections for Maintenance or Construction projects are performed competently. Assesses data and generates reports, updating records to reflect the work and results. Inspects all equipment and piping in assigned area required by appropriate code, procedure or site inspections program. Writes or reviews reports to assure they are comprehensive, sufficiently detailed, and accurate. Maintains complete and accurate records during inspections so they can by transferred to the permanent files. Queries inspection data base to determine due dates for fixed equipment and piping inspection. Communicates due dates to Operations and Maintenance supervisors for completion before due dates are reached. Coordinates and directs the daily activities of outside inspection contractors during turnarounds and special activities. Communicates with Inspection, Maintenance, and Operations personnel to maintain awareness of specific issues of concern until repairs or replacements take place. Independently inspects and monitors all repair and construction work to be certain it is being done per the plans and adheres to all specification and codes required.
