Major contractors Oil, gas and process division is seeking and experienced Process Engineers to be based out of their North West & North East office, working on schemes across the northern part of the UK. Projects range from £100m off shore gas chambers to c£500m decommissioning / process schemes at Sellafied. Responsible To carry out specific design tasks delegated to him by the project Process Engineer or Chief Process Engineer as appropriate, checking of design work in accordance with Company Procedures and approval of design work when authority has been delegated by the Chief Process Engineer, To carry out design tasks on proposals, delegated to him by the proposal Process Engineer or the Chief Process Engineer, To liaise with other disciplines as required and To provide support to Sales Department and Construction/Commissioning Departments as required

Job Description The Mechanical TA will be accountable for the following as they relate to the operation of existing assets in the Iraq region and the associated Iraq redevelopment project: Selection of suitable engineering codes and standards relevant to mechanical engineering, covering all static mechanical equipment from the wellhead to the export system. This includes utility systems within oil processing facilities as well as 'off site' utilities such as power generation and distribution, source water and water injection. Endorsing the content and quality of engineering specifications used for the procurement of static mechanical equipment. Where necessary, the Mechanical TA will undertake to develop or endorse the development of local Mechanical Engineering Site Technical Practices. The selection of codes and standards, generation of specifications and development of STPs shall reflect the content of applicable the Company's engineering technical practices in the area of mechanical engineering. Manage deviations from mechanical engineering codes, standards, specifications and STPs through the existing deviation process. Provide assurance to the Engineering Authority that the Management of Change process is functioning correctly for modification or other changes to mechanical equipment. Work with the supply chain department to ensure that mechanical equipment is purchased to the required quality level and with the required level of certification and testing Ensure that the Project design follows the principles of inherently safer design and that residual risks are ALARP. Ensure the Project goals of standardisation at the levels of plant design and equipment specification are achieved. Selection of suitable and appropriate mechanical engineering technology for application in Iraq. Ensure that relevant mechanical equipment is identified as Safety Critical Equipment and appropriate maintenance, inspection and test plans are in place. Perform audits of safety critical maintenance. Establishment of a 'Community of Practice' involving all mechanical engineers within the Iraq Region. This will involve knowing all the staff working as mechanical engineers, their educational level, career aspirations and training and development needs. It will also involve working the HR and the training department to identify and deliver suitable training. Perform competency assessments of senior mechanical engineers and, together with line management, develop training and development plans to close competency gaps.
