Job Description
• Co-ordination of the operations of the group and to ensure that all aspects of Company Policy are followed.
• To ensure that overall Company Policy for achieving quality as described in the Company Quality Manual is followed by all staff in the group.
• To ensure that staff within the group has the technical skills and experience appropriate for all aspects of the group’s activities on projects undertaken by the Company and when necessary advise the Engineering Manager of training and recruitment needs.
• To ensure that all staff in the group work to Company Procedures.
• To ensure that Company Policy with regard to safety and environment in design is carried out by the Group and to be responsible for health and safety at work of all those reporting to him. In particular ensure that personnel visiting site are properly briefed and trained on safety issues.
• To ensure that all procedures, standards, specifications, design guides, manuals etc., required for effective functioning of the group are prepared and updated.
• To supervise design work carried out by the group and ensure that the group produces safe, economic and technically sound engineering designs which meet the Client's requirements.
• To manage resources to ensure utilization targets are met.
• To enhance productive working relationships by consultation, communication, team building, support and guidance.
• To cascade information to individuals on organizational performance, policy and procedures and to report back to senior management subordinate comments and recommendations for improvements in performance and removal of constraints that are preventing performance.
• To identify development needs, organize development activities, provide support and coaching to individuals, to assess the effectiveness of development and to set objectives, assess performance and provide feedback.
• To manage activities to provide the necessary protection to employees, clients and other third parties and the general public.
• To be aware of legal and organizational responsibilities regarding Health, Safety and Environmental issues with respect to employees, contractors, clients and third parties, ensuring that activities are managed in accordance with Company policy and Client requirements.

Our client is currently seeking a Human Factors engineer to assist them on a major Oil and Gas project in the Surrey area. The successful candidate will report to the process safety manager and provide Human Factors Engineering (HFE) input into the FEED design scope. Your activities will include the development of a Human Factors Implementation Plan as well as provide the input to project design documentation. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the HFE issues register and providing input to the engineering studies, accommodation studies and control room design. You will also be responsible for the preparation of HFE reports and support implementation of the Safety in Design (SID) process. You will be a degree qualified individual, ideally with a Masters in Psychology or Ergonomics and have a good track record with HFE within a highly regulated industry such as Oil and Gas.
