Employing over 28,000 personnel worldwide they operate in 50 countries. They are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Technical Safety Engineer, based in Runcorn. Job Description Responsible for conducting safety related studies on design projects including but not limited to process hazard reviews, hazard consequence modelling, process hazard analyses, risk assessment studies, Safety Integrity Level determinations, and management of changes as related to safety. Coaching lower level professionals within the group. Designated focal point on certain jobs and as such should be prepared to plan, budget, organize, and control an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering programme Skills & Experience Degree level qualification in an engineering/safety subject. MSc in Safety Engineering (or related subject) considered a bonus HAZOP/HAZID arrangement , participation & chairing( if required) , ALARP demonstrations, QRA coordination; AFP/PFP development, Hazardous area classification; Ability to perform updates for operational safety case and support/defend them to client and regulatory bodies; Same ability required for combined operations safety case etc. Ability to plan and cost small to medium project safety and environmental engineering scopes, including development of cost estimates. Able to scope work for, and manage external consultancies. Able to act as a liaison point for project teams, clients and external regulatory bodies. Significant experience in oil & gas industry preferably Ability to manage technical meetings, liaise/feedback with other disciplines, project management, client and regulatory authorities, provide advice on various technical safety and environmental engineering subjects. Able to manage and develop junior reporting personnel. This is a contract position. The rate for this position is negotiable.
