Job Description

For this job we are hiring for someone with a career background in Chemistry ideally in engineering fluids, oilfield chemistry or lubricants (mainly synthetic organic chemistry). The role will involve development of new products, often from scratch in support of market opportunities and involve mainly formulating/formulation of additives. You will be qualified to BSc Chemistry or a related field and for this role we will require someone with experience of industrial chemistry who has run projects and had responsibility for managing their own workload. This role is offered on a permanent basis and in this instance Search Consultancy is acting as an employment agency.

Salary

30000 - 35000 per annum

Key Requirements

•BSC or equivalent in a Science or Engineering subject or equivalent time in a relevant lab environment •Previous experience of working in a laboratory in a similar role •Good computer skills, must have experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint •Good oral and written communication skills, speak and write English •A mixture of office based and standard laboratory based work •Some field work may be required •Ability to travel overseas on occasion •Limited offshore work – QC support role – may be required.

Job Description

In this role, the incumbent will deliver internal and external customer value through continuous improvement in the following areas: i) Product Development and Formulation ii) Product Performance Screening; evaluation and development of new products and techniques iii) Product Applications iv) Product Management v) Technical Sales Support vi) Practical laboratory work and reporting vii) Field and/or Offshore service viii)Maintain housekeeping and ordering of consumables Provide continuous improvements to internal and external customers through laboratory and field technical problem solving, troubleshooting and product application/development support. Conduct all duties and activities professionally to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
