Job Description
- To identify, promote and introduce methods of improving performances within the business, and monitor results
- The areas for improved performance to include personnel, product, process and skill of people, management and communications in the elements of Health, Safety and the Environment
- In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required
- Preparation, obtaining approval, issue and control of the HSE procedures
- Ensuring the preparation, review, approval, control and issue of supporting HSE system procedures and instructions, to implement associated Codes and Standards are managed effectively
- Co-ordinating a review of the documented HSE system and identifying all areas for improvement
- To review contracts to ensure that the specified requirements are adequately defined and documented & that they conform to the HS&E requirements set out in all Tender Documents
- Represent the Business Unit management, in terms of HSE at all levels within and at Group level of the organisation
- Arranging for the preparation, review, approval, control and issue of project specific HS&E Plans
- Provide internal Departments with a service as and when required with respect to HSE issues
- Implementing a programme of planned and documented HS&E audits including Risk & Environmental Programmes and evaluations
- Liaison with the Training Manager & HR department to ensure effective HSE training and competency of personnel is maintained throughout all levels of the Business Unit.
- Working with the relevant Project Management Team to ensure client initiatives are managed to a satisfactory conclusion
- Maintaining an Objectives & Targets Programme and periodic review across all areas within the Business Unit
- Managing the performance of and response to client HS&E audits
- Interfacing with clients for assessments of the company HS&E management systems, as appropriate
- Recommending corrective action to resolve any deficiencies in the HSE systems and verifying satisfactory implementation of agreed actions
- Maintaining master records of all HS&E systems and statistical documentation
- Liaison with other umbilical manufacturing units within the Group on all HSE issues
- All personnel are responsible to ensure their compliance with H&S Management Systems in accordance with the principles, objectives and targets of the company's policy and in compliance with statutory provisions, taking account the complexity and business risks involved in operations
Skills & Experience
- Professional HS&E Qualifications for the post are required as a minimum
- Considerable experience working in a Management or Supervisory role, preferably within a Manufacturing environment
- Basic computer training, supervisory experience and competent report writing
- Knowledge of Environmental Systems and auditing in accordance with ERA requirements
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
