Key Requirements

Candidates will need to have previous experience working within a G&G environment or have good data domain experience in Oil & Gas upstream formats. A sound understanding of Seismic Data Formats is highly desirable. A good understanding of well formats would also be advantageous, as would experience in Java, Oracle and Linux based operating systems. There will also be a requirement to work directly with clients so presentation and communication skills will play an important role.

The main responsibilities for this position will be deploying various projects globally using Technology based around the Petrobank, PowerExplorer, VSpace, R5000 applications and Data Management Consultancy practices.

Job Description

Although additional training can be provided, it is expected that the candidate will have the skills to be a self starter and have the ability to work based on their own initiative.

This position would ideally suit someone who is currently an experienced O&G Data Manager or O&G IT Systems Engineer looking to take their career to the next step in an exciting and challenging environment.

As a Senior Geologist working in this area you will be part of and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including the field Geophysicists and Reservoir Engineers. Your job will be to maintain production of assets, seek and generate prospects through evaluation for in-field drilling, near field exploration and bringing existing prospects to production. This role will be key to the success of the team moving forward and you will be expected to plan work schedules, lead projects and and provide leadership and coordination to the team. As a Senior Geologist you will have proven experience in production/development and exploration. You will have skills in Reservoir characterisation, reservoir mapping and geological model building and be familiar with software's such as Landmark & Petrel. Candidates with upwards of 7 years experience can be considered for this role. EU Citizenship or equivalent to work in the UK would be extremely beneficial.
