Key Requirements
Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
· MSc or PhD in geology, geophysics or other geoscience subject essential, preferably geophysics.
· A strong understanding seismic reservoir characterisation techniques essential.
· Some academic/industry research OR publication of a paper relating to an aspect of seismic reservoir characterisation essential (e.g. fracture analysis, litho/fluid prediction, permeability, seismic inversion, geomechanics…)
· Desire to enhance your understanding and technical capabilities in seismic reservoir characterisation essential.
· Good project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
· Some understanding of borehole seismic, wireline log interpretation, forward modelling, fluid substitution and seismic dat pre-conditioning for reservoir characterisation advantageous.
· Good communication and presentation skills
· Good interpersonal skills - the ability to work at all levels to accomplish goals.
· Self motivated - must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
· Attention to detail and processes with the ability to work under strict deadlines.
· Highly flexible – ability to adapt to new project challenges and work practices.
· Drive and ambition to achieve fast track career.

Job Description
The Company’s highly established and reputable Interpretation Services includes geological, geophysical, reservoir engineering and petroleum economics teams. These teams deliver regional scale 3D interpretations, detailed field scale studies, prospectively studies, asset evaluations and license round support to oil company clients worldwide.
Building upon the success of these teams, the Company is seeking to expand their Reservoir Characterisation team to support their growing demand for Reservoir services.
With an academic background in an earth science discipline, and knowledge of the theoretical and technical workflows of seismic reservoir characterisation techniques, you will work along side senior consultants performing reservoir characterisation studies.
You will be mentored and supported so that you can progress in your career and take on more responsibility and technical activities such as data loading/QC to litho/fluid prediction through seismic data pre-condition and seismic inversion.

Job Description
The successful candidate will play a key role working closely with the exploration, business development and development geophysics group. Key activities will include but are not limited to: * Build a knowledge base of the company's reservoirs, in-place hydrocarbon reserves and technical reserves of the company's exploration discoveries to be used for development planning. * Contribute geophysical expertise throughout the field development planning process covering reservoir characterisation, probabilistic in-place volumes and assessing the structural frame work. * Recommend external geophysical studies. * Manage external contractors interactions with the development team. * Coach and mentor the team recommending training requirements and ensuring the level of competence within the team remains at the appropriate level through the recruitment process. * Attend company data rooms and provide geophysical input for technical evaluations relating to business development opportunities. * Work closely with well operations for new well planning. * Present to and work with external bodies such as BERR and NPD. Ideal candidates will have proven experience working on field development projects and exploration studies gaining strong results. They should have a skilled use of 3d interpretation and reservoir characterisation tool kits such as Seisworks and petrel reservoir uncertainty estimation, scenario modelling and value of information techniques. Ability to work on projects with little data analysing and interpreting what is available and making recommendations from your conclusions. Candidates should have coaching and mentorship experience as well as previous exposure the recruitment process making recommendations for new hires and technically assessing staff. Candidates are expected to have an MSc in a geoscience discipline with further studies preferred but not essential.
