    Key Requirements

    Applicants should have a legal or commercial degree or other relevant and recognised qualification with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. An excellent knowledge and understanding of contract law with a working knowledge of the forms of contracts such as FIDIC, ECC, LOGIC, IMCA and SUPPLY TIME. Also a strong commercial background and awareness of the office environment is essential.

    Job Description

    Offshore Marine Management (OMM) is an independent marine services company providing solutions for offshore cable installation projects in the renewable energy, offshore wind power, subsea telecommunications and oil & gas industries. We currently have an opportunity for a full time, permanent Commercial Manager to join our vibrant office based in Histon, Cambridge. Duties include: • Build a strong commercial team and structure. • Organise, manage and co-ordinate commercial documentation provided by internal staff and external contractors and clients. • Preparation and implementation of commercial and contracting procedures and processes. • Establish and build relations with our existing client base. • Along with its professional advisors, advise the Company of its legal rights, rules, regulations and obligations including any new legislation which may have an impact on the company. • Maintain effective communications with department managers and enhance the profile of the commercial department. • Carry out detailed contract reviews across the whole company and various departments. • Timely and effective production of LOIs, LOAs, HoT and contracts. • Keep abreast of relevant changes of law that may affect our commercial environment. • Management of the department’s operating budget. • Maintain communication and relationships with banking and insurance institutions to arrange all required bonds and payments thereof. • Maintain communication and relationships with insurance brokers and insurers to arrange all required insurances and payments of premiums thereof. • Manage all contractual and legal elements for all prequalifications and tenders. • Lead tender reviews and contract award vetting. • Leading Sales to ensure that all contractual requirements and potential liabilities are accounted for in submissions, including the identification of commercial risks. • Support in developing and implementing purchasing terms and conditions favourable to the Company with Suppliers. • Provide contractual and legal support to Operations to ensure that the commercial interests of the company are optimized. • Ensure compliance with project specific contractual administration requirements such as relevant bonds, withholding taxes, invoicing milestones and retention monies etc. • Manage contractual terms, conditions, and contract variations with clients, contractors and sub-contractors. • Work closely with Project Managers to manage all contractual aspects of projects to ensure that the Company is always in a sound commercial position. • Maintain close communication with Finance to ensure that the company is in a safe financial position and to raise any concerns.
