They are currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical CAD Designer, based in Berkshire. Job Description Support the engineering design activities for the Hydrodynamics Division projects Design experimental hardware and ensure that it is fit for purpose. Provide design engineering input using the approved process. Provide professional design engineering advice across HD as required. Ensure compliance with assurance requirements in accordance with Company policies and management systems relevant to engineering support. Provide detail design solutions that support HD. Prepare appropriate documents that can be presented at design reviews. Provide an acceptable level of design configuration baseline that is maintained for experimental operations (including records and drawings as appropriate). Ensure that designs are ALARP, simple and cost effective and can be fielded in a safe manner. Be prepared to liaise with facility, manufacturing and research DA staff as appropriate. Be prepared to liaise with the technical and design authorities across the Company for support with modification control and design/technical review process. Ensure that the design meets the required output, to the relevant standards in accordance with a documented plan. Ensure there is an understanding and application of responsibilities with regard to the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards Skills & Experience HNC (or equivalent) in engineering subject. Safety knowledge relevant to mechanical design CAD knowledge (preferably UG) Design of mechanical assemblies in a scientific environment Suitably qualified and experienced in mechanical design Mechanical design engineering Behaviour and attitude to work with the company values of One team, Purpose, Achievement, Innovation and Creativity. Self-motivated and enthusiastic. Security Clearance to DV(A). Medically fit and willing to work in RA and explosives designated areas. This is a contract position.
