My client, a leading provider to the oil and gas industry, are currently recruiting a number of quality control inspectors to join their team in Aberdeen for a period of 6 months. Duties will include: Perform quality control checks, inspect and approve all incoming raw materials within the warehouse and manufacturing facility Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials Completing reports and logs on document inspection Complete all applicable activities identified within the department work packs and purchase orders Ensure all calibrated equipment used is within date and rated for the work activities To be considered for this role, the following is desired: HNC or equivalent in Mechanical, electronic or Electrical engineering Inspection background within mechanical and electrical systems is essential You must be eligible to work in the UK

Degree qualified. Ability to read drawings using Pro/E, Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD. The QC Engineer shall be computer literate. Ability to organize and efficiently process information. Attention to detail. Team player. Fast learner Understanding of basic oilfield manufacturing requirements (materials, processes, pressures, tolerances and certification). Experience in QC, Manufacturing processes, and the assembly/testing of oilfield equipment. Familiar with Pressure testing, lifting operations and assembly workshop activities. Familiar with dimensional control equipment. Auditing skills.

Job Description

Assist engineers in design/development of customized products of others. Maintain quality procedures. Inspect and test equipment in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards. Conduct supplier surveillance. Compile and maintain test, assembly and suppliers inspection records. Manage non conformance register. Maintain documents and calibration records. Maintain plant and equipment to a safe and operational condition. Review supplier certification packages. Assemble manufacturing records.

Key Requirements

HNC Mechanical Engineering /Modern Apprenticeship. Ability to work under minimum supervision. Level II Certificate, Magnetic Particle Inspection beneficial. Level II Certificate, Liquid Penetrant Inspection beneficial. Accurate report writing and good level of terminology understanding. Minimum 3 years quality control experience in a manufacturing background. Good working knowledge of manufacturing and inspection techniques. Competence in Microsoft Office applications and electronic mail systems.

Job Description

Responsible for inspection and measurement of products, components and materials to ensure they conform to quality, drawing and purchase order requirements. Responsible for the calibration and maintenance of equipment and maintaining records relating to this. Responsible for the production of detailed survey reports for inspected equipment requiring refurbishment including rework recommendations. Responsible for paperwork associated with quality control process. Responsible for final quality checks prior to shipping. Responsible for goods inward checking of conformity to P.O. Following client operations and procedures. Responsible for reporting any nonconforming items found.
