Job Description
The successful candidate will play a key role working closely with the exploration, business development and development geophysics group. Key activities will include but are not limited to:
* Build a knowledge base of the company's reservoirs, in-place hydrocarbon reserves and technical reserves of the company's exploration discoveries to be used for development planning.
* Contribute geophysical expertise throughout the field development planning process covering reservoir characterisation, probabilistic in-place volumes and assessing the structural frame work.
* Recommend external geophysical studies.
* Manage external contractors interactions with the development team.
* Coach and mentor the team recommending training requirements and ensuring the level of competence within the team remains at the appropriate level through the recruitment process.
* Attend company data rooms and provide geophysical input for technical evaluations relating to business development opportunities.
* Work closely with well operations for new well planning.
* Present to and work with external bodies such as BERR and NPD.
Ideal candidates will have proven experience working on field development projects and exploration studies gaining strong results. They should have a skilled use of 3d interpretation and reservoir characterisation tool kits such as Seisworks and petrel reservoir uncertainty estimation, scenario modelling and value of information techniques. Ability to work on projects with little data analysing and interpreting what is available and making recommendations from your conclusions. Candidates should have coaching and mentorship experience as well as previous exposure the recruitment process making recommendations for new hires and technically assessing staff. Candidates are expected to have an MSc in a geoscience discipline with further studies preferred but not essential.
