My client, a world leading service and drilling provider to the Oil and Gas industry are currently recruiting a Lead Engineer (Subsea Trees) to join their team inAberdeenon an on-going contract basis. Duties will include: Interpret customer specifications to produce design specifications Develop conceptual design requirements for customer Gain customer approval of design specifications Reviewing contract/sales orders to identify commercial and technical risks Ensure all equipment is designed in accordance with the current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy specifications Working with other engineers and designers to interpret design specifications Undertake materials and environmental reviews Review the material requirements for a design / project Prepare initial materials lists based upon the above and ensure this is released into the Product Information Management System (PIMS) Approve Bill of Materials (BOM) in PIMS Undertake design verification including: risk analysis, failure analysis, design reviews, calculations to establish a full Design Verification Package (DVP). Prepare Factory Acceptance (FAT) procedures, Prototype Test Procedures and document results (PVT) Check and Approve drawings and calculations Ensure all engineering activities and documents are correctly archived in PIMS Liaise with manufacturing to ensure designs are suitable and allow for efficient manufacture To be considered for this role, the following is desired: You must be eligible to work in the UK Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent extensive design experience Experience of heavy mechanical engineering or in a relevant technical discipline e.g. analysis. Familiar with Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements for this industry Experience in drafting standards. Knowledge of materials, including welding and heat treatment of metals and elastomers. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes for area of work. Knowledge of design process methodologies

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE: Design and manufacture of equipment for isolation of existing ETS pipeline system to allow removal of existing spool. Review of existing pigging operations and ensure new export system is suitable for ongoing pigging operations. Ensure that all manufacturing and construction activities associated with pre-commissioning activities comply with Statutory and Company Regulations and procedures in respect of Health, Safety and Environment (Safety Management System), national standards and in accordance with approved quality plans. Ensure equipment is designed fit for purpose - review and approve design package and manufacturing plans and ensure that the manufacture is in accordance with the quality plan. Manage specialist pigging contractor throughout manufacturing of equipment and offshore operations. Preparation of detailed contingency documentation for removal of isolation pig should it become stuck in ETS pipeline. Prepare detailed scope of work(s) for provision of equipment for intelligent pigging equipment as well as operational pigging activities for inclusion in ITT documents. Further involvement in ITT issue and review, including technical evaluation and recommendation for award of contract for pigging equipment. Provide design and engineering input into design and manufacture of the WYE piece to ensure suitability for all pigging operations. Prepare scope of work for manufacture of full scale test rig for temporary pigging and testing purposes. Provide input to installation diving contractor to ensure installation activities are aligned with platform activities.
