Job Description
Our client is an international energy services company operating in engineering & production facilities, well support and gas turbine services. Employing over 28,000 personnel worldwide they operate in 50 countries
As Technical Safety Engineer your main responsibilities will include
Identify changes to safety case & performance standards and document to client.
Maintain key safety drawings including e.g. hazardous area drawings, fire & gas detection layouts, safety sign & escape route drawings, etc.
Safety screening of project scopes.
Participate in and/or scribe for HAZOP / HAZID studies, Design Safety Reviews, procedural HAZOP, PUWER assessments, etc.
Chair onshore / workpack risk assessments.
Produce engineering calculations e.g. dispersion studies and author technical reports.
Interface with Independent Verifier for project scopes and ongoing platform verification.
Prepare deviations from existing procedures / specifications where appropriate to suit decommissioning environment.
Ensure that assigned scope is delivered to agreed estimate and schedule.
Input to project plans and regular progress reporting.
Qualifications
Engineering Degree related to Technical Safety preferable
Minimum of HND/HNC.
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Experience in project delivery environments able to contribute as part of a team
Good computer skills i.e. office software, document control software, etc
Experience:
Experience working with Safety Case & Performance Standards
Working knowledge of engineering drawings i.e. P&IDs, C&Es, Hazardous Area Drawings, etc
Experience in applying risk assessment principles i.e. hierarchy of controls, ALARP, etc
Experience in use of hazard analysis software e.g. PHAST, Cirrus, FRED is preferable
Offshore Survival & Medical is preferable
A level of work experience as a Technical Safety Engineer in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Good understanding of relevant offshore O&G legislation i.e. SCR, PFEER, DCR, etc
Good understanding of construction activities
Knowledge of decommissioning preferred
