As Cost Engineer your main responsibilities will include
Assist in the creation of project cost estimates for all aspects of the project (owners costs, engineering, construction etc).
Manage cost engineering activities including development and implementation of cost controls.
Coordinate with the Planner / Scheduler and Project Controls Manager in the organization and facilitation of risk assessment interviews.
Facilitate cost risk mitigation and contingency planning process.
Migrate conceptual project estimates to definitive project control estimate
Establish and maintain cost data input to an integrated project cost and schedule system.
Participate in early project activities related to reviewing/upgrading contractor's cost control organization and procedures
Assure accuracy and timeliness of data collection for cost measurement
Coordinate flow of information related to contractor input into the contractor's estimate and to the reforecasting effort associated with the control estimate
Skills
Leadership ability in the area of Cost Control
Proven expert in cost engineering \ cost control
Solid understanding of Upstream projects and their management and control
Good understanding of SAP and procurement process used for cost management
Strong communication skills
Well-developed analytical skills with ability to asses project plans and identify gaps and risks
Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor degree (B.Sc.) or equivalent education
Relevant experience within project management in the oil and gas industry.
Good management presentation and reporting skills
Good knowledge of key capital project management processes
This is a contract position
