As Assistant/Trainee Cost Engineer your main responsibilities will include
Understand the corporate and contract specific cost procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these.
Study and understand all relevant project documents relating to the cost management of allocated project(s).
Assisting in the review of cost commitment and expenditure information (for all cost elements), for input to the computerised cost control and reporting system on a weekly basis and ensuring that all information received is accurate and correctly input.
Assisting in the production of regular cost reports.
Maintaining comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders.
Review project manhours and the allocation of manhours in conjunction with planning on a weekly basis.
Maintain rates within Computerised Cost System.
Maintain a good working knowledge of relevant corporate cost software.
Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
Ensure that the Corporate and Project Specific Change Control procedures are being adhered to.
Assist Cost Department on reporting how the change control effort is impacting on the project
And any other duties appropriate to this position
Education & Qualifications:
A-Levels or equivalent experience
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Good general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating and Change Control
Experience:
High degree of computer literacy

As Senior Cost Engineer your main responsibilities will include
Provide a cost engineering service for a range of project & modifications
Be proactive with the project engineers and engineering team in maintaining a sound cost control environment including the management of change.
Manage Project Cost Functions.
Build relationships with the Project Teams, developing your knowledge of their requirements to provide the cost support and data the teams require.
Work with other members of the Projects and Asset Cost/Planning teams to ensure that Cost Engineering work is wholly integrated.
Provide expert advice where requested to validate expenditure including onshore and offshore manhours, actual costs (including vendors and materials) and onshore sub-contracts.
Responsible for providing monthly VOWD, maintaining current commitment reporting, reviewing expenditure against estimates and assessing the impact of cost over/under-runs by preparing trend analyses and options.
Education & Qualifications:
HND or Degree level.

To provide commercial support to the Project Manager on a specified contract, primarily by preparation of regular client project cost reports, project variation control and maintenance, and client monthly accrual valuations
- Perform all tasks and prepare all information in accordance with the company's policies, processes and procedures.
- Prepare regular cost reports and issue to Project Engineers for onward submission to client.
- Control and maintenance of project variations.
- Liaise with procurement and planning departments with respect to project commitments and cost phasing.
- Preparation of regular monthly accrual valuations and ensuring these are presented to clients in a timely and correct manner.
- Check monthly client invoices prior to submission.
- Provide commercial support to Project Managers in the preparation of annual budgets and re-forecasts.
- Provide guidance and occasional supervision to Commercial Co-ordinators and Assistants with preparation of client billings and assistance in the preparation of project cost reports.
Skills & Experience
- Self-starter and demonstrate a high level of initiative.
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Ability to consistently meet reporting deadlines
- Considerable experience in a cost engineering role
- Must be a team player
