YOU will be in a leadership role with relevant knowledge in drilling technologies, geo-mechanics, cementing, drilling fluids and advanced well completions. YOU will also need to be an expert in technical capabilities and fulfilling business needs with the ability to mentor less experienced engineers. The Role: The consultancy currently seeks to appoint a Senior Drilling Engineer / Manager to play an integral role in the Aberdeen office. Based predominantly on-shore, this is a non-operational role which will see you take responsibility for the management of a large existing drilling team. You are likely to get involved in and manage the following:- - The preparation of drilling engineering input to clients for the screening and evaluation phase of new opportunities and prepare drilling programmes. - Field development planning (e.g. linking slots to targets). - Feasibility studies/recommendations on infill wells; ERD & subsea; sand control; etc. - Economic Screening estimates/Costs + Drilling Operations supervision. - Researching and preparing cost estimates for client drilling operations. - Interfacing with teams and appropriate vendor community personnel in attaining optimum processes and services in planning for the cost efficient wells development. - Generating AFEs for clients as appropriate. - Consulting on or managing well operations performance. - Analysing relevant data and presenting observations and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to improve operational and cost efficiency and preparing regular well reports. Looking after drill service contracts, you will oversee the establishment and administration of drilling and service contracts for clients, whilst also taking responsibility for a number of regulatory processes, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements for all well construction activities. You: The ideal individual will demonstrate both North Sea and international drilling engineering experience of over 10 years. Academically, you must possess a degree in a relevant engineering subject, and be extremely literate. You must be able to work both autonomously, utilising your own initiative, and as part of a project team. Familiarity with drilling software and new technological developments is a pre-requisite, and business development skills would be an advantage. Our client is an International Oil & Gas Operator with a substantial presence in the UK North Sea. They have a requirement for a Night Drilling Supervisor (NDSV) for one of their key production complexes This is a Contract tact role - minimum 12 months. Reporting to the Senior Drilling Representative and Drilling Superintendent, you will manage the drill crew and other service providers offshore, ensuring that that all drilling, completion and work-over objectives are delivered. 3/3 working Rota. (22 days paid) Highly competitive day rate offered. Travel and overnight accommodation expenses reimbursed. Key Responsibilities include: Manage, coordinate, supervise and monitor Drilling Contractor and Service Provider activity according to approved programmes and procedures. Ensure that all well objectives are delivered in a manner that safeguards the health and safety of all personnel, the environment and the integrity of company assets.. Ensure that all rig activities are; discussed in a planning meeting, covered by written work instructions, covered by procedure, properly risk assessed, understood by all personnel involved in the task and reviewed in order to capture lessons learned. Conduct well control drills to verify the ability of Drilling Contractor personnel to identify and contain an influx. Maintain a close working relationship with the shore based team and discuss well critical decisions prior to committing to previously unplanned courses of action Ensure that critical operations, such as pulling out of open hole sections, cementing, casing running, leak off tests, pressure tests, inflow tests and well control operations are properly supervised, witnessed and recorded for the well file if appropriate. The ideal candidate will have experience working for an Oil & Gas Operator on production platforms. Min 5 years experience as NDSV or demonstrable Tool pusher experience if less than 5 years. Degree Qualified Valid IWCF Well Control Certificate
