Job Description
A leading pipeline and engineering contractor presently seeks a Senior Offshore Pipeline Engineer to join their Abu Dhabi operation.
Candidates MUST have an engineering degree (ideally mechanical or civil) and at least 15 years of experience working on subsea pipelines, risers and preferably had some exposure to platform interfacing.
Experience should include the following design activities - pipeline mechanical design, pipeline stability, spanning analyses, crossings, routing, spoolpiece and riser analysis (shore approaches).

Within the Civil Discipline in a project the Lead Engineer is responsible for: The execution of all engineering activities in accordance with the project plan, standards, norms, and other regulations, and be familiar with or proficient in the use of structural engineering software (eg Staadpro, SACS); The coordination of engineering activities with the other disciplines in the project; The quality of the documents produced under his ownership; The exchange of information and communication with the client, the project manager and the other disciplines; Monitoring and control of the budgets assigned to his discipline; Compliance with the project schedule; In the Civil Department, the Lead Engineer for a particular project has the responsibility to: Prepare and maintain work plans for the department staff under his guidance to achieve the highest possible efficiency and utilization of the resources; Maintain contacts with existing clients and develop contacts with new clients in cooperation and consultation with the Department Manager and/or a Management Team member and in the framework of the Company's strategy, in order to detect opportunities, acquire new commissions, replenish the order portfolio and extend the Company's reputation. Report to the Department Manager and Project Manager at regular intervals, in particular where it concerns capacity utilization rate and work in progress; Take responsibility for quality, safety, health, well being and the environment within the department and its projects; Coordinate and take responsibility for communication towards staff on the department's working methods and production (within internal and external quality guidelines, requirements and standards and in consultation with other departments within and outside one's own office) in order to assure the technical quality within the department. The Lead Engineer reports to the Department Manager. Skills & Experience Significant Oil and Gas experience in multidisciplinary projects Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc/MSc/BEng). Have a broad technical background and excellent communication skills (in English). The position requires ability to work according to plan and a well-developed sense for technical, contractual and commercial business. Key qualifications: ability to cope with stress, independent thinking, decisiveness and a strong focus on results. Have the ambition and capabilities to act as Deputy Department Manager and share tasks with the Department Manager in achieving departmental targets. This is a contract position.
