Job Description
**Thermal Power** Electrical Power Engineer - Bangkok **My client is a leading power sector consulting engineering company, executing consultancy and engineering assignments throughout South East Asia. As one of the market leaders in South East Asia, they are currently involved in several large thermal power projects as Owner's Engineer.
Due to their continued increase in business, they now require a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to join them in Bangkok. The ideal Electrical Engineer shall have a minimum of fifteen years experience in the electrical power sector, which will have been gained working for; utilities companies, consultant engineers or EPC contractors. The main focus of this position is design review and therefore candidates will need to have significant recent experience in undertaking design or design review.
Responsibilities will include the following
* Preparing conceptual designs as well as detailed designs for the elecrical systems of medium to large power plants including coal and gas turbine based plants.
* Preparing detailed electrical technical specifications for inclusion in project tender documents.
* Evaluation of technical proposals and preparation of concise bid evaluation reports.
* Reviewing and commenting upon contractors design drawings and documents to ensure compliance with contract specifications and good engineering practice.
* Undertaking power system studies using power systems software.
* Conducting meetings and recording concise minutes of meeting.
* Preparing correspondence and reports as required in a professional style.
Requirements
* Degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, with particular focus on power engineering.
* Significant knowledge and experience of all aspects of electrical engineering design associated with power plants including switchyards.
* Knowledge of IEC and IEEE standards.
* Experience and capability in using power systems software such as ETAP or similar.
* Good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work alongside colleagues of other disciplines.
* Fluency in written and spoken English.
