Job Description

As the Welding Engineer you will be Involved in the research and development of new methodologies in pipeline welding applications, developing work scopes, supervise the execution of work, evaluating the welds, testing and reporting. You will provide expertise in the areas of GMAW, P-GMAW, FCAW and assist in the development of new products. Other tasks will include:

• Welding and consumable project definition

• Defining best welding methodology for tenders and projects

• Liaison with client welding engineers

• Management and coordination of welding qualification activities

• Liaison with external parties to perform mechanical testing of welds for procedure qualifications and consumable evaluation

• Provision of any guidance for project QA/QC personnel and method statements for on going work requirements

Ten years of experience in the oil and gas industry as an engineering specialist in the field of cathodic protection combined with general experience in corrosion control. Must be a certified level 4 NACE Cathodic Protection specialist and active in NACE or other technical committees.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    The successful candidate's responsibilities include the following: Develop and maintain cathodic protection standards, best practices and material specifications. Develop and maintain cathodic protection procedures for installation, commissioning and monitoring. Provide technical reviews for cathodic protection capital projects. Serve on international standards writing bodies as the opportunity allows. Lead value engineering sessions for cathodic protection standards.

    We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Civil Engineer to join my clients Project Management team in Saudi Arabia. The Project Management Organization designs and constructs numerous multi-billion dollar mega projects as well as many other oil & gas projects. Project Management manages and executes projects from multiple offices geographically scattered throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    Requirements

    - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with

    - Ten years of experience at a Senior Level, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry

    - Must have experience in Full Project Life-cycle

    - Must have experience working on/Managing Mega Capital Projects with a minimum value of $200MM USD

    Responsibilities:

    - Designs or studies structural modifications to facilities such as industrial shop buildings, warehouses, residences, marine piers, oil handling, processing, storage and pipeline facilities, facilities, sewer systems, roads and streets.

    - Occasionally called upon to design new facilities of the types mentioned.

    - Execute capital projects according to the scope, schedule and budget.

    - Responsibility for project development: preliminary engineering to detail designs to construction and the final and safe turnover to proponent.

    - Manage General Engineering Services (GES) design contractor activities during the development of project proposal, include definition of project work scope and schedule requirements.

    - Development of detailed estimates leading to funding appropriation and approval.

    - Development and preparation of contracting plan and strategy for solicitation, evaluation and awarding of contract for detailed engineering, procurement and construction.

    - Manage contractor preparation of detailed design drawings, material specifications and procurement, and/or construction bid packages.

    - Coordinate activities and resolve issues among proponents, contractors and other parties to allow construction activities to progress according to plan and final mechanical completion

    As the Pipeline Engineer you will Resolve pipeline technical problems for operating facilities. Review design packages and provide technical support to new projects. You will also Perform pipe stress analysis, Hop-Tap calculations, and road crossing calculations. Evaluate instrument scrapping results. Perform Piping Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations and recommend suitable repair. Perform integrity assessment for pipelines. Update piping standards. Introduce new piping and pipeline technologies Teach in-house training courses. Participate in technical committees and incident investigation studies. Conduct outreach (awareness) seminars about pipeline issues. Participate in value engineering (VE) studies.

    Requirements:

    - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

    - A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential.

    - Nine years' post-graduate experience in the field of pipeline design, construction and operation.

    - Demonstrate specific knowledge and practice of ASME B31.4 & 8 and applicable pipelines ASME standards, design, construction, operation and pipelines analysis.
