Job Description

As the Welding Engineer you will be Involved in the research and development of new methodologies in pipeline welding applications, developing work scopes, supervise the execution of work, evaluating the welds, testing and reporting. You will provide expertise in the areas of GMAW, P-GMAW, FCAW and assist in the development of new products. Other tasks will include:

• Welding and consumable project definition

• Defining best welding methodology for tenders and projects

• Liaison with client welding engineers

• Management and coordination of welding qualification activities

• Liaison with external parties to perform mechanical testing of welds for procedure qualifications and consumable evaluation

• Provision of any guidance for project QA/QC personnel and method statements for on going work requirements

    - Experience reviewing project proposals, and evaluations for Gas/NGL Facilities

    - Experience in conducting economic analysis

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    - Conduct feasibility studies on major additions/upgrades to gas processing and NGL facilities. Perform evaluations required to establish and support long-term business strategies related to gas and NGL facilities.

    - Prepare written project justifications for presentation to corporate management.

    - Prepare scoping papers to define capital projects covering gas processing and NGL facilities.

    - Interface with operating organizations, engineering, project management and corporate planning.

    - Perform system and economic evaluations of existing and potential new gas processing and NGL facilities.

    - Direct evaluation of major and NGL facilities as performed by others.

    - Prepare and make presentations to corporate management on gas processing and NGL operations issues.

    - Mentor young facilities planning engineers for future development to Facilities Planning Specialist positions.

    Requirements

    - B.S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or other related qualification from an accredited university.

    - A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential.

    - Fifteen years of experience or more in performing economic evaluations and feasibility studies, and in preparing budgetary approvals.

    - Must have experience of bulk terminal and distribution projects.

    - Previous experience in applying and analyzing hydraulic and/or bathing simulations.

    - Possess excellent written and oral communications and technical presentation skills.

    Minimum Requirments

    - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology from an accredited university.

    - A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential.

    - Five years' post-graduate experience as a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist. Must have experience of :-

    - Geotechnical field exploration, including borehole drilling, sampling and sample preservation, rock coring, cone penetrometer soundings and boring log preparation.

    - Analysis of shallow foundations, bearing capacity and settlement.

    - Conduct field visits for construction issues.

    - Conduct analyses and studies on complex projects as directed by Senior Geotechnical Engineers.

    - Review geotechnical investigation reports conducted by third party geotechnical contractors.

    - Perform quality checks on third party geotechnical contractors in the field and lab operations.
