Our client is an International Operator working extensively within the Norwegian market. They are requiring Commissioning Area Operators to take up work on their project offshore of Norway. This is a long term position starting in October and will run till 2014 .
The role will require the candidate to work alongside the Commissioning superintendent and ensure that commissioning activities are completed safely in accordance with the project scope.
To be suitable for this position you will need to have the following background.
* 5-10 years relevant experience
* Experience with multi disciplines of the commissioning
* Norwegian (NORSOK) experience
* Regular meetings with commissioning
* Offshore experience

•Four-year construction management, engineering, environmental or science degree.

•Oversee multiple projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables across ERM’s Contaminated Site Management service line [e.g., Brownfields redevelopment, site investigation and remediation, sustainable sediments, risk assessment, environmental construction management, site closure and decommissioning].
•Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
•Coordinate with ERM offices in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe regions on national and international project delivery.
•Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to grow the Contaminated Site Management practice in Alaska.
•Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.
•Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.

They require an experienced Structural Engineer (5-15 years experince) who has competence in power plant engineering design to join their team.
The Structural Engineer should either be degree qualified in Engineering (or related discipline) or have a Higher National Diploma in Engineering and are able to demonstrate a sound level of competence in the following areas:
- Interpretation of specification requirements and resolution of technical issues.
- Prepare design calculations in line with structural Eurocodes (BSEN).
- Preparation of structural arrangment and detailed drawings from the initial concept through to the detailed design relative to plant and associated equipment such as pipe racks, access platforms, pipe gags and supports, small buildings, structures and structures including foundations.
- Coordinating and interpretation of mechanical input data arising from basic design concept.

- Participating in design and gate reviews to ensure the design output meet specification requirements, taking into account health and safety, buildability and good engineering practice.
- Working to agreed budgets and time scales, and to ensure the planned works are delivered to the required quality and programme.

The salary on offer the successful Structural Engineer is between 28-30k (negotiable).
The job will require the candidate to undertake technical work with minimum supervision; have demonstrable communication skills and posses strong decision making skills.
This position will require the Structural Engineer to visit UK based powerstations to meet customers, discuss projects, carry out assessments and surveys. Therefore, the candidate must have a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel.
