Job Description

Inspection Engineer

Leap 29 are currently working with a global engineering company. At the moment the client is looking for an inspection engineer to carry out inspections on drilling equipment.

Start date: 1 month
Duration: Long term contract (min. 2-3 years)
Rate: To be discussed
Location: Worldwide

Your responsibilities

*As the inspection engineer you will carry out the inspection of drilling equipment such as pumps, engines and generators
*You will be working on different projects worldwide for approximately 200 days a year

I would like to stress that my client needs someone who is flexible to be able to travel as they will need you to work on different projects worldwide. There is no set rotation as it depends on the project you will be working on. Also my client requires the suitable candidate to be committed to the position on a long term contact basis (minimum 2-3 years).     - Implements T/A Scheduling Premise document and recognizes the primary function of the scheduling tool is:

    - Development and understand of critical path and near critical path jobs

    - Resource leveling for the event

    - Generate daily and 3 shift lookahead for field coordinator(s) to drive work

    - Sufficient quality and detailed reports for management and supervision to steer the event

    - Data entry/import of detail job plans and estimates into scheduling tool.

    - Create logical network of activities and, ultimately, a critical path of work and schedule, without overly constraining the schedule.

    - Understands that the schedule must contain sufficient information, but most be simple and dynamic enough to change with changing conditions during execution

    - Updates schedule as required - typically daily or per shift - based on planner reported progress.

    - Enters job plan details, including activity description, duration, craft and hours, equipment and materials required

    - Determines activity relationships and create logistical ties based on other turnaround planner personnel input (coordinators and planners)

    - Develops critical path and analyzes for logic discrepancies

    - Ensures competency of others in use of scheduling tools, trains and mentors Planner/Schedulers.

    - Inputs updates into schedule as required based on reported progress (field craft, planner, or coordinator).

    - Maintain log of additional work and ensures that it is planned, scheduled, and tracked during execution.

    - Initiates formulation of plans to mitigate effects of progress, performance or delivery issues to completion dates

    - Ensures review and buy-in of the integrated schedule with key stakeholders, including contractors.

    - Participates in the Lessons Learned and Lookback process for select turnaround events.

    - Is mindful of and continues to look for opportunities to reduce turnaround scope, and plan and execute with low cost mindset.
