    Job Description


    It is expected the SDS’s will spend no more that 50% of their time on business as usual, and manage their time accordingly, with the other 50% available, week to week, for fulfilment of enabling work requests.

    The GPO SDM is accountable for the overall SDS Service. Within the project the SDSs will report to the Enabling Portfolio Manager (EPM).


    Responsibilities


    Business-As-Usual activities:

    • Incident request escalation and facilitation
    • Service request escalation and facilitation
    • Fulfilment of enabling work requests of less than 1 man-hour of effort.
    • Monitoring service levels and satisfaction of the user base in their geographies
    • Digital security walk-throughs
    • Silent running reporting: Provide periodic service (weekly, monthly and quarterly) reporting to the EPM.
    • SDSs will ensure the timely execution of desktop hardware delivery to the user base (on-boarding and off-boarding of project staff), providing a seamless experience for the end-users, through monitoring and coordination of the relevant incident and service request queues for service components with regional and central IT&S GOI services.
    • SDSs will proactively seek to improve the silent running of the IT&S asset base through the analysis of incident trends and service requests within the user-base, submitting remedial enabling service requests to the Project Services Coordinator (PSC) and EPM for consideration.
    • SDSs will assist the EPM with the management and coordination of the service delivery support organisations (including Engineering and Project Management Services (EPMS) IT services external), delivering fit-for-purpose services.
    • SDSs will ensure unplanned system and infrastructure outages, and associated issues, are addressed in line with existing SLAs/OLAs. Where support service SLAs do not exist or are ill-defined, SDSs will work with the EPM to establish appropriate SLAs or OLAs.
    • SDSs will ensure that the Enabling service profiles listed in the Services Guidebook are maintained and updated for their assigned locations, coordinating updates through the Project Service Coordinator.
    • SDSs will ensure that root-cause analyses are prepared for significant unplanned system and infrastructure outages, helping identifying opportunities for service improvements.
    • The SDSs will act as “eyes and ears” for the GPO and IT&S organisations regarding Enabling services, through continual engagement within the user base, communicating service information where required.
    • The SDSs will maintain a working knowledge of end-users responsibilities within Digital and IM security standards and procedures, to help advise end-users where necessary.
    • The SDSs will act as a point of contact for coordinating issues with service desks and resolver groups that support the Enabling services. The SDSs will not get involved in the day-to-day fault-fixing or SRs unless the tickets are being escalated through the support services.
