Higher education with Bachelors in electrical/ electronic engineering Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage 5-8 years’ experience in the Marine industry preferably in vessel electrical maintenance and repairs. Minimum of 5 years’ Experience with relevant equipment, including electromechanical, electronic and programmable equipment; hydraulic and pneumatic systems; analogue and digital transmitters Proven knowledge of testing and troubleshooting systems and wiring low voltage controls, limit switching devices and motor starters Strong work ethics Honesty and professional integrity Customer-centricity and responsiveness
Vessel Maintenance (Planned & Preventive) and Repair Management: - Develop technical specifications for maintenance, repair and upgrade of all electrical equipment. - Inspect and repair vessel navigational lights and navigational equipment on board. - Maintain and repair vessel electrical systems, generators, electrical motors, and control circuits. - Perform routine checks of electrical equipment, and maintain records for tracking. - Advise crew on most suitable use of electrical power. - Maintain the switchboard and all components contained within on vessels. - Maintain electrical aspects of vessel refrigerating equipment and air-conditioning units. - Diagnose electrical faults on systems, apparatus, or parts and correct the problem. - Install, maintain, repair and replace marine electrical and electronics systems. - Work with the Technical Superintendent to develop and implements PMS for all electrical systems on-board the vessels. - Maintain and repair electrical power generating and distribution systems, voltage regulators, engine governors, fire alarms systems and detectors and other electrical equipment on board the vessels. - Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or parts to spot hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to confirm compliance with relevant regulatory requirements at each port call.

The most suitable candidate would have worked on a vessel as a maintenance specialist and therefore possess apt knowledge maintenance of all the electrical equipment on a ship such as motors, switchboards, fire detectors, navigational lights, batteries etc. The candidate would also be resident in Port Harcourt.
