    MAC Resourcing have a vacancy for a Chief Engineer on-board a newbuild PSV. The role is with one of our Marine clients, providing platform supply and support to their clients. The position is on a 4/4 rotation in the North Sea, working with a DP2 system and is on a staff basis (although contractors will be considered). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Fault analysis of electrical and controls systems; Audits and inspections of vessel; Ensuring engine room and systems are fully functional and in good working order; Ensuring HSE and company safety policies are enforced; Directing 2nd (and occasionally 3rd) Engineer; Ensuring all relevant reports and logs are kept up to date correctly.

    Key Requirements

    As a member of the senior management team onboard, exercise effective planning to utilise all the vessels resources and expertise to ensure that the vessel is at all times seaworthy and maintained/operated in accordance with prescribed Company guidelines, at all times observing international statutory regulations. Assume custody of the onboard Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and associated computer database. Ensure that all other technical staff are trained and can use the system. Keep DDL senior management fully updated on a weekly basis of outstanding safety critical maintenance and ensure adequate risk assessments have been implemented to cover the safety critical jobs not completed. Liaise with the OIM and Chief Officer regarding the disposition, loading, ordering and use of fuel, potable water and drill water, in relation to the vessels trim and stability requirements. Ensure that a full and comprehensive written handover is given for each shift and tour change. Carry out all tasks that are deemed reasonable and acceptable, as delegated by the OIM or Unit Manager.

    QHS&E & Training: Demonstrate commitment to the Company's safety policies through leadership and guidance. Ensure Company and regulatory requirements for environmental protection is complied with. Attend and monitor safety meetings including pre-tour and task meetings as required. Promote the safety culture to all staff and encourage them to participate in the SIP, Active Monitoring and Work Permit auditing programmes. Report any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations to the OIM and Drilling Superintendent. Respond to emergency situations as per designation on Station Bill. To assist OIM and participate in all emergency situations and environmental protection responses. Prepare risk assessments for hazardous situations. Provide help and guidance with Task Risk Assessments prepared by other Technical Team members.

    Responsibilities: The succesful applicant must be degree educated. Must have had at least 2/3 years previous experience working on an 4 leg Orion class jack up using rack and pin hydraulic jacking system. 1. Maintain and operate the jacking system and ensure that 4 equal leg load distribution is maintained at all times. 2. Assist rig move master during barge moves, maintains proper ballast, Controls jacking console during installation mobilization and pre-loading operations and ensure that rig is stable and safe before rig operations commence. 3. Performs stability calculations, perform load calculations to ensure that the rig is maintained in a stable condition at all times and advise the rig Master if a possible overload condition could occur. 4. Supervises cranes lifting operations according to load charts, loading and offloading of materials and equipment to ensure equal weight distribution of the barge and cranes are operational and certificate are up to date and verify that crane operators are licensed and certified. 5. Responsible For Preparing the Barge for Move ( Perform The Stability Calculations in the Afloat and Jacking condition, Perform the Preload calculations and legs loads, prepare all the Machinery for Moving, insuring that all the safety precautions have been done before the move. 6. Ensure that proper and safe operating procedures for all machinery are followed. 7. Responsible for the effective administration of the routine and planned maintenance system on the rig. 8. Maintain inventory of all equipment: supplies and spare parts on board and notify reorder needed items. 9. Ensure and Coordinate with the master that all safety equipment on board is operational and that all personnel are familiar with the operation of this equipment and are trained to react in the event of a hydrocarbon release or fire and are familiar with life boat drills. 10. Ensure that records and manuals relating to operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical system are kept up to date. 11. Calculating the Fuel Consumption and responsible for the bunkering operation. 12. Supervises cleaning, painting and construction projects in Engine room (Repowering Procedure). 13. Responsible for company technical reporting and engine crew Evaluation Reports to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM). 14. Implementing of MODU SPEC Code requirement on board the barge.
