    Job Description

    A barge engineer must have knowledge of moving rigs, stability of the rigs, able to manage the deck loads, variable deck loads (VDL), and deck crews. Must have worked on drilling rigs. This is a full time permanent role with 28/28 rotation in Singapore until October, and 3/3 rotation there after in the North Sea.

    My client are looking for a Barge Engineer for their cyber jack-up rig offshore in the North Sea. The role will initially be out of a shipyard in Singapore on a 28/28 rotation. In October you will transfer to the North Sea to work a 3/3 rotation. The rigs are cyber jack-ups.

    Job Description

    the point of contact onshore for thruster & engine and marine technical queries / support across the fleet - Interface between OEM / equipment service engineers in the regions supporting the assets - Interface between class society and authorities in the regions - Ensure that proper preventive maintenance policies are in place and support marine crew in the implementation of those policies accordingly - Prepare refits for dockings and maintenance stops and follow up these in close liaison with the responsible personnel onboard the ship or the Project Manager / Vessel Superintendent - Liaise with external contractors when reviewing / optimising maintenance regimes within the fleet of the vessels - Liaise with (SCM) buyers and logistics to ensure spare parts requisitions are dealt with in due time in order to not jeopardize operation of the vessel(s) - Comment on new legislation affecting thruster and engine equipment and provide technical advice as requested to ensure compliance - Responsible for best practice and continuing or extending life within thruster & engine equipment, suggest and advise on new equipment to extend maintenance service intervals, introduce preventative regimes rather than reactionary - Involvement as required to assist Vessel Superintendent on emergency and planned marine / vessel related systems
