    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Support new and existing upstream oil and gas projects with specification and design reviews of cathodic protection systems;
    * Work with contractors and project teams to define the scope of work for cathodic protection systems for onshore, offshore and sub-sea structures;
    * Develop and maintain Company requirements for cathodic protection system design.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

    * B.Sc. Corrosion Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or Electrical Engineering, and registered Member of Institute of Corrosion (UK) or NACE Certification as Cathodic Protection Specialist.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    * 10 years in relevant discipline in Oil & Gas production and processing industries;
    * Demonstrated industry experience with cathodic protection detailed design and specification of requirements for well casings, pipelines, plant piping, AST (external/ internal), buried tanks, buried vessels, offshore pipelines, offshore structures, reinforced concrete structures and piling;
    * Demonstrated familiarity with commissioning of cathodic protection systems and mitigation of interference;
    * Conversant in Cathodic protection industry codes including NACE, ISO and DNV;
    * Knowledge of corrosion engineering fundamentals;
    * Self-motivated and focused on achieving business results through a multi-disciplinary team;
    * Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills;
    * Able to conduct inspections for all CP Materials;
    * Must have site experience in the field of surveys (Soil Resistivity, PSP, CIPS and/ or DCVG);
    * Must have site experience in installation and commissioning of Cathodic Protection System and Remote Monitoring and Control System for CP System;
    * Conversant with site audits, site investigation and troubleshooting with regards to Cathodic Protection System;
    * Prepare scope of work, design drawings, bill of materials and cost estimates relating to Cathodic protection systems for replacement installations and/or new projects;
    * Experience with protective coatings applications and maintenance;
    * Training manpower in relevant discipline is an important requirements for this job.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    * M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Electrochemistry or relate.

    * Work Cycle of 56 work/ 21 days leave for candidates from North America and Europe;
    * Work Cycle of 65 work/ 21 days leave for candidates from Middle East, India and Pakistan;

    TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Responsible for material selection, welding, fabrication techniques, and corrosion control;
    * Plans designs execute corrosion programs on all company facilities;
    * Selects materials to satisfy plant-operating conditions;
    * Prepares recommendation/ specification and reports on the subject of metallurgy & welding;
    * Conducts failures investigation and recommends corrective action, participate in training Libyan personnel;
    * Set project philosophies, produce specifications, and provide materials selection reports with materials selection diagrams;
    * Review and approve contractor documents, drawings and specifications;
    * Participate in safety reviews as required;
    * Will work in all areas of Materials, Corrosion and related disciplines;
    * Provide consultancy advice on use of codes and standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    * M.Sc. Degree in Metallurgy science;
    * NACE Courses Degree in Science with further education in Corrosion and Metallurgy;
    * Minimum 10 years field experience in a metallurgical or corrosion engineering position - Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Plant;
    * Effective communication skills-able to deliver presentations and reports in a clear, concise and detailed manner;
    * Excellent proven track record in project safety and delivery;
    * Able to prioritize tasks and duties;
    * Fluent in English, both written and oral;
    * Excellent knowledge of standards and codes within discipline.
