    Job Description


    An international Oil & Gas Operator have a requirement for a Senior HSSE Advisor to work with then on an 18 month contract based out of the UAE. The focus of this challenging position will be to improve the HSSE systems, implement them across multiple sites and then monitor safety performance. You will be based from the UAE but the role will involve travel in the Middle East and North Africa region.

    You will be supporting the entire HSE discipline by providing expertise in:

    • Corporate and Operational HSE management
    • HSSE training
    • Incident investigation
    • Emergency response management
    • Process safety
    • Waste Management

    The salary for the role will be in the region of $12,000 / month with additional allowances and benefits on top. After the 18 month assignment is finished there is a strong possibility of a permanent position in one of the companies operational units.

    To apply, candidates will need to have the following profile:

    • 20 years HSE experience
    • Worked in a HSE Management role for at least 5 years
    • Worked for an international operator
    • Strong track record in training and developing local workforces
    • Previous experience working in the Middle East / North Africa
    • Track record in improving operational HSE performance
    • Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree preferred

    - A Principal Design HSE Engineer will normally be the most senior engineer of his discipline on a particular project with full authority to act for that discipline when delegated to do so by the Discipline Technical Authority.

    - Design HSE is the fundamental discipline which ensures a safe process plant design.

    - Its work involves producing documents that satisfy the Health and Safety Executive.

    - To act as lead Design HSE engineer on projects and proposals with responsibility for technical quality and meeting programme and cost targets. To supervise and/or carry out Design HSE work on such projects.

    - To plan for adequate resources and to monitor and report design progress and man-hour usage to the project management

    - team.

    - To work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary project delivery team, through proactive liaison with other disciplines and to ensure integration of Design HSE into the overall engineering design.

    - To support the Design HSE Technical Authority in technical development of the function.

    - To offer advice and support to colleagues and subordinates on development needs taking into account work activities, learning ability and circumstances.

    Skills & Experience

    - First degree in Chemical Engineering (Mandatory) with Masters in Chemical Engineering or Process Safety Management preferred.

    - Chartered Engineer.

    - Extensive years' experience in process contracting, moderate years' experience in the oil & gas sector and moderate years' experience in the field of Design HSE.

    - The candidate should ideally have experience of working on small to medium FEED and EPC/EPCM brownfield projects in the Onshore Oil & Gas Sector.

    - Experience of Offshore projects is desirable but not essential.
