    Understanding of HSE Management System (including standards and procedures), with particular emphasis on their application in the field.

    Job Description

    Review HSSE input to Sail and Drill delivery processes from planning to execution phase e.g. Interface documents including the preparation ER and HSE Bridging documents.

    Participate in DWOP/CWOP activities, ensuring HSE risks are adequately controlled and HSSE plan as requested.

    Conduct regular structured site visits to operational locations both in an onshore and offshore environment, providing feedback to site through visit reports. Follow up with site on progress of actions raised. Provide support to areas requested to assist in improving HSSE performance.

    Review quality and implementation of site based HSSE Plans. Coach teams to improve effectiveness of plans through risk based approach and driving ownership of plan with team.

    Provide HSSE expertise to operational teams on risk areas e.g. Golden Rules, Life Saving Rules, Working at Height; Lifting & Hoisting; DROPs; Temporary Pipework etc.

    Assist with HSSE review and then monitoring the execution of high risk and unusually hazardous operations.


    Facilitate HSSE cluster type meetings with contractors to jointly develop HSSE improvement opportunities.

    Assist the DROPs focal point for Sail and Drill, liaising with focal points on site to drive compliance with Global standard.

    Provide HSSE guidance and support on Process Safety . Reviewing single barrier failures and supporting investigations. Provide guidance and challenge on classification and follow through.

    Actively share lessons learned from site visits, audits and investigation with other stakeholder teams to help drive improvements.

    Participate and lead incident investigations, audits, self-assessments and health-checks.

    Review incident investigations for quality of findings, participating in Incident Review Panels. Work with Investigation team leader to ensure action alerts for HIPOs are developed and communicated to Wells in a timely manner.

    Analyse HSSE data and information to identify issues and patterns, which can be discussed with well engineering community to develop appropriate interventions.

    Liaise with the extended Wells HSE support team to assist with the implementation of HSSE improvement plans and new procedures/standards.

    Role is primarily to support the Sail and Drill operational team, whilst providing link with counterparts in other team across UI.

    Strong Operational focus – visible presence at Sail and Drill site and office locations; helping to guide teams on implementation of HSSE standards and share best practices across Sail and Drill operations. Work closely with Sail and Drill Well Delivery and Planning teams, and Contractor HSE focal points.

    Providing guidance, support and review to Operational teams and Contractor organizations on implementation of HSSE standards.
