    What are my responsibilities? To be an active and enthusiastic member of the site management team functionally reporting to the 'EHS Manager in Project', providing professional EHS advice, and actively monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of the Safe System of Work on projects falling under the requirements of the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) in the UK and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations in Ireland. The EHS Advisor on site acts in a monitoring capacity to ensure that the company complies with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, company standards and site requirements on a day to day basis. You are responsible for monitoring and assessing safety performance on site and assisting the Site Manager to implement improvement plans, as well as driving the ongoing Zero Harm safety culture within the company. Tasks: *Health safety and environmental support and advice for wind farm construction projects in the UK and Ireland (and abroad if required)) typically working a rotational work pattern *Be a role model for Zero Harm and company EHS Standards, ensuring that behavioural safety and leadership is demonstrated at all times *Ensuring the EHS Standards are implemented on all sites in a consistent manner. *Act as an advisor to the Site Management Team on all EHS matters *Carry out all EHS Advisor duties as outlined within companies Document House *Support the 'EHS Manager in Project' as early in the project as the Sales Phase as requested. *Familiarise yourself and implement the client specific EHS Requirements of the Turbine Supply Agreement *Support the EHS Manager in Project with early reviews of EHS Documentation, such as component transport and logistics arrangements, subcontractor documentation *Contribute to the mobilization and demobilization of the project site, ensuring EHS requirements set out in UK/IE Legislation are complied with *Support in the implementation of the company EHS Plan and monitor to ensure that all persons working within scope of the project are informed and understand the sections of the EHS plan relevant to their work. In addition ensure that all parties are continually informed of the safety and emergency preparedness programmes and issues *Co-operate and Liaise with the 'EHS Manager in Project' and Site Management Team about updating all project EHS Documentation (Risk Assessment / Emergency Response Plans / Construction Phase EHS Plans / etc) *Participate in sub-contractor evaluations, monitoring and auditing *Participate in training new EHS employees, and support Managers where requested *Collect and report observations of near misses, accidents, incidents and deviations from agreed standards and efficiently report through the agreed communication channels *Support incident investigations a required by the EHS Manager in Projects. *Monitor to ensure that corrective action identified in incident investigations are implemented on site. *Assist in the creation of Task Risk Assessments when required and monitor to ensure that all non routine works are carried out in accordance with the Task Risk Assessment. *Follow-up on any observations from the EHS inspections, Client/Main Contractor inspection reports and from the coordination meetings. *Send all EHS related correspondence and documentation to 'EHS Manager in Project' *Monitor training records to ensure that all personnel arriving on site have the relevant training and certification. *Support employees in acquiring the EHS related work procedures, work descriptions, diagrams, and other work-related information that they need *Assist the employees in filling out accident and near miss reports, and to ensure they are kept on record *Monitor site conditions to ensure the construction site is at all times orderly and tidy and react quickly to remove potential sources of risk and pollution through regular attendance at all work sites (including inside Wind Turbine Generators) *Inspect the condition of personal safety equipment and ensure that first aid and fire extinguishers material is available, in good condition, and clearly marked *Keep informed of the QA system and the procedures related to the position and to work in accordance with the requirements defined in the QA system *Keep informed of the EHS procedures relevant to the position. This includes following safety procedures, waste sorting and handling of chemicals in the work area. The employee is obligated to react on observed nonconformities to the written procedures and to contribute to the improvement of health, safety and the environment. What skills do I need to qualify for this job? *Significant experience of working as an EHS Advisor within the Renewables Industry. Experience in other high risk industries such as Construction / Oil and Gas / Marine Operations will be considered. *Excellent level of fitness - there will be regular climbing involved in monitoring WTG work teams *Excellent presentation and communications skills *Excellent people and team working skills, the ability to demonstrate experience of working with different cultures would be preferable *Excellent coaching and influencing skills *Significant knowledge of CDM regulations and Environmental requirements relating to construction projects. *Relevant HSE certification and qualifications (NEBOSH Construction, NVQ5, NEBOSH Diploma, BSc Hons) *Member of IOSH (Tech/GradIOSH working towards CMIOSH Status) *Willingness to work on a rotational work pattern in the UK and Ireland (the successful candidate may be required to work outside the UK/IE region during the course of their duties). **Please note only successful candidates will be contacted** For more information about this role please contact our London office
