They are currently recruiting for the position of Trainer/Mentor in Geology Engineering, based in Nigeria. Job Description This will be an agreed net daily rate with the consultant + $65 per diem for all days in country + Accommodation + 2 travel days paid per rotation. Working on a 6 weeks (Monday to Friday) on and 2 weeks off rotation. Work outside the normal working hours is to be expected often as demanded by operational needs. You will be expected to deliver reservoir engineering, production engineering and geoscience courses providing a mix of project based and classroom training to Employees. You will be responsible for the quality delivery of an extensive number of training events and developing a capability building plan that will leverage on the results of the technical competency assessment of technical employees. You will work closely with the Department Head, Line Managers and Manager of Organisation Development to ensure training is focused on Company related operations and project plans. Working as a mentor and coach with the local staff members is also a key aspect of this position. Skills & Experience Engineering or Geoscience degree; Masters or Doctorate preferably Vast experience in the Oil and Gas Industry which includes experience in training delivery Previous experience in West Africa will be an advantage. Fluent command of the English language is mandatory. Strong experience in technical publications Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and appropriate Geosciences or Engineering application software Negotiation and influencing skills Ability to develop and manage projects and teams Excellent communications and interpersonal skills Comfortable working in a fast paced and multicultural environment Strong flexibility and demonstrable adaptability skills This is a contract position. Key Requirements

• Senior Geotechnical Engineers should have at least 5 years experience working as a geotechnical engineer. • Candidates will be dynamic and motivated and able to demonstrate initiative. • A willingness to develop an existing understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering is essential. • Priority will be given to candidates who are energised by complex multi-disciplinary problems and motivated to develop and pioneer novel design solutions in the subsea environment. • Effective communication skills and an ability to be an active team player are equally important attributes.

Job Description

Use of limit analysis for estimation of collapse load for foundations subject to complex loading. Use of 2D and 3D finite element software for analysis and design of complex soil-structure interaction problems. In-place design of buried and surface laid pipelines stabilised with rock. Evaluation of pipeline ploughing / trenching solutions. Specification of geotechnical site investigation programmes and management of subsequent laboratory testing. Design of both permanent and temporary anchoring systems. Management of technology development programmes.
