They are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Document Controller, based in Paris. Job Description Reporting to the Lead Document Controller (LDC) and assisting in the day to day document control (DC) activities for the EPCI phase of the LNG project, ensuring project/departmental objectives are met, executed and delivered in a timely and professional manner. Defining, developing and implementing procedures and user guides for all aspects of DC work practices to comply with contractual requirements and in line with existing Shell guidelines and DEPs (Design and Engineering Practices). Ensuring that project DC procedures and work instructions are strictly adhered to by all project participants (In-house and externally). Ensuring all deliverables are accurately QC checked, registered and correctly distributed to the appropriate recipients. Administration of the DC EDMS and first line of support to end users. Conducting DC EDMS (Assai and Live Link) user training to all project personnel. Supervising and prioritising work tasks to document control staff based in Paris and the offshore support team in India, ensuring timely turnaround of documentation. Attending vendor 'Kick of Meetings' conducted by the contractor(s). Generating, validating and publishing document status, progress, trend reports and KPIs. Identifying document quality discrepancies to originators (internally and externally) and provide resolutions. Ensuring the document distribution matrices are maintained up to date and implemented correctly. Some travelling maybe involved. Skills & Experience Proven experience in executing major EPCI projects. In depth knowledge and understanding of all DC work practices, processes and DC systems utilised on Major Capital Projects. Understanding of Project Life Cycle Plans for project deliverables. The ability to supervise others and provide guidance where necessary. The ability to exhibit pro-activeness with a high degree of self-motivation. A passion for improving current work processes, leveraging technology to support the business. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, fluent in English (written and oral) and are able to be team player. Significant working DC experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with major Capital Project or Facilities engineering. Other industries will be considered. Comprehensive knowledge of document control processes and systems for managing all aspects of Engineering, Vendor, Subcontractor and Construction documentation/deliverables. Supervision of a team of staff. Highlighting problem areas, formulating and implementing remedial action(s). Knowledge, understanding and use of various DC EDMS and tools. Competent in the use of reporting tools/software (e.g. Crystal Reporting, Business Objects) and MS Office packages. This is a contract position. The rate for this position is negotiable.
