    We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Controls & Instrumentation Specialist to join my clients Project Management Team on a permanent basis. The Project Management Team are responsible for Capital Project Execution, from FEED till commissioning, for the widespread Oil & Gas Operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    You will act as the Instrument and Control System Lead Project Engineer, and will be given challenging assignments on multiple Oil and Gas Projects as well as a long-term career opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia. Your assignment will include leading a design team of instrument and process control system engineers during the front end development, engineering design and procurement phases for all field instrumentation and process automation and safety instrumented systems. Additional responsibilities will include leading a perse team of site engineers through all implementation phases for the installation, testing, pre-commissioning and final handover.

    Requirements:

    - Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Control Systems, Chemical or Electrical) is essential, with preference given to those possessing a Master's degree.

    - A minimum 10 years post-graduate working experience in a process automation system lead role position with both project engineering and execution background.

    - Background shall include hands on experience with major Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and Process Automation System Solution Providers, as well as experience with both HART and Foundation Field Bus communication protocols.

    - Background in Oil and Gas, Refining or Petrochemical projects preferred. Proficient in the English language and possess both excellent oral and technical writing skills.

    - Working knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation INTOOLs and all standard MS Office PC applications.

    - Preference will be given to those possessing any or all of the following certifications: Registered PE, PEng or equivalent, PMP, CAP or TUV FSE.

    Act as primary Instrumentation Representative on site ensuring that Contractor is fully conversant with all Company project Instrumentation related standards and procedures.
    Manage the following Site Instrumentation interfaces and ensure that Company / Project standards and procedures are fully aligned:
    o Company & Contractor
    o Contractor / Sub-contractors
    o Instrumentation Vendor representatives & construction site personnel
    Advise the Construction Site Rep and other Discipline Superintendents on all aspects of Instrumentation Management and ensure that interfaces with other disciplines are managed effectively.

    Qualifications & Training
    Extensive relevant international project construction experience - Onshore or Offshore
    HNC or equivalent trade indentures and qualifications - i.e City and Guilds /BTEC in Instrumentation or Electronic/Electrical engineering,
    Awareness of other discipline construction processes.
    Recognized level of expertise in construction discipline with a good knowledge of relevant International standards and codes.
    In depth knowledge of Company E&P General Specifications a distinct advantage.
    Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
    Fluent spoken and written English
    Valid Medical Certificate which complies with Company Standards.
    Valid UK Driving Licence or equivalent international driving licence.
    Comp-ex certification mandatory.

    Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Instrumentation Engineer, based in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands.

    Job Description

    - Concept and FEED studies, detail (lead)engineering, and a possible follow through of the discipline all the way into Construction and Commissioning.

    - Commissioning Experience is not a must but preferable.

    - The Senior Instrumentation Engineer reports to VP Technology.

    Skills & Experience

    - Bachelor or master degree in Instrumentation and Controls.

    - Extensive experience in the (petro)chemical industry of which preferably a significant part to have been in the upstream Oil & Gas industry.

    - Fields of expertise need to include Process Control & ESD systems, Fire & Gas detection systems, field instrumentation with in particular (fiscal) flow metering.

    - A strong tie with Process and Electrical Engineering is preferable.

    - A team player, proactive in an international Engineering and Construction environment.

    - Good Dutch communication skills, verbal and in writing. Impeccable English is a must.

    - A willingness to travel (for FAT's and site visits) is mandatory.

    This is a permanent position.

    The salary for this position is negotiable.
