    Job Description

    An opportunity has arisen in the business for a European Technical Support Engineer based in the UK (Billingham - North East). Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Chemical/Process Engineer to support in order to develop industry leadings catalysts & technology, improve design methods and investigate plant performance issue.

    - Producing process designs for replacement catalyst or plant modifications.

    - Recommended commissioning and operating parameters.

    - Assisting with the installation and start-up of catalyst at customer plants.

    - Rationalising plant data and evaluating the performance of catalyst charges.

    - Simulating process performance and predicting future trends.

    - Supporting the customer to optimise the performance of catalyst units.

    - Troubleshooting catalyst problems and issues.

    Skills & Experience

    - Strong engineering degree and be or working towards being a Chartered Chemical Engineer or equivalent.

    - Good technical ability and preferentially have knowledge of syngas chemical production.

    - Self- motivated, a great communicator and has the ability to understand the balance between deadlines and accuracy.

    This position is primarily office based, but will encompass work for clients based across several continents and hence offers opportunities for international travel. Typically between 20 to 40 days overseas travel is expected per year.

    This is a permanent position.

    The salary for this position is negotiable.

    Are you an experienced Process Engineer seeking a new opportunity?

    An exciting contract has arisen to join a successful and expanding team within the Nuclear Industry.

    The role is an excellent opportunity to work in the centre of excellence for the management of nuclear materials, decommissioning and recycling.

    The successful candidate will be working in Engineering and design development of plant processes for the Legacy Cylinder Facility at Capenhurst.

    The plant includes the transfer and filtration of UF6, washing of emptied cylinders and the facilities for uranium recovery and waste/effluent disposal.

    Key Objectives
    The role holder will report to the Lead Process Engineer and will support the engineering team in ensuring the delivery of the LCF project to time and budget.

    Deliverables
    Design and specification of process systems, UF6 transfer, UF6 cylinder washing, waste and effluent treatment.

    Production of deliverables such as P&IDs, Calculations and System Descriptions

    Identification of project requirements, generation and assessment of options and assessment in terms of technical merit, cost, programme, safety, reliability, environmental impact and quality

    Management of physical trials to underpin the LCF design, identifying and engaging suppliers, specification of requirements, assessment of supplier proposals, technical support to trial work, review and approval of supplier deliverables.

    Review design documentation to ensure that it meets the company's requirements.

    Preparation of technical specifications and reports.

    Liaison with stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure the project is delivered in line with expectations.

    Essential/Desirable Skills
    Degree in Chemical Engineering or or significant experience in a process engineering role.

    Membership of the IChemE would be preferable.

    Proven experience and expertise in process design projects, such as development of unit operations, heat and mass transfer, separation and mixing processes and design of nuclear process plants.

    Experience of working within the nuclear industry.

    Experience of UF6 plant and handling facilities would be beneficial.
