Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Safety & Compliance

· Ensure safety has the highest priority and is at the forefront of well planning, execution and in discussions with all contractors and service providers

· Ensure Company policies, local government regulations and PSA (Production Sharing agreement) requirements are fully complied with

· Ensure the full team is adequately trained and competent in safety management skills and comply with operating area and company reporting requirements

· Perform ASA’s (Advanced Safety Audits) and contractor compliance audits on a regular basis

· Be part of and initiate accident and incident investigations as required.

· To ensure all contractor and service providers and fully conversant in Company’s safety expectations and hold regular meetings with all local managers

· Attend Contractor safety meetings and HSE forum meeting as available

· To ensure all safety actions are tracked and closed out in a timely manner

· To ensure an equipment assurance programme is in place

· To ensure a documented trail to all key decisions

· To ensure all wells team are in compliance with required mandatory certification

Operations

· To ensure full well planning is performed in a timely manner to meet requirements of the Company’s well planning process

· To ensure all 3rd party services are onboard with adequate resources (people and equipment) to meet the wells requirements.

· To manage and monitor daily wells operations

· Monitor performance and technical integrity of contractors and service providers

· To ensure full cover for 24 hour rig operations

· Ensure good and regular communications with all wells team in operating area and TVP as required

· To ensure wells programmes and amendments are approved and distributed as required

· To ensure stock levels of Company supplied goods are adequately maintained and available to meet the well schedule

· Ensure a full schedule is maintained for well operations

· Ensure senior management are kept fully abreast of all key risks and issues

· Ensure a close working relationship with Company’s 3rd party services

Personnel

· Ensure a full team are in place to deliver all phases of the operation

· Ensure a full personnel plan is in place for all disciplines with covers succession planning, promotions, vacation, training requirements and duty cover

· Ensure a training matrix is in place for all key skills to deliver technical competence and personal development

· Work closely with the training and development co-ordinator for advancement of National staff and actively manage the replacement of Expatriate employees once competent National staff are available where applicable

· Ensure all staff discussions are held and closed out in a timely manner

· Ensure upward feedback is performed once per year

· Finance, Procurement and Contracts

· Approval of invoices as required

· Ensure all goods and services are procured are inline with procurement guidelines

· Ensure correct ethics are used for full wells team in dealing with Contractors

· Ensure AFE’s (Authorised Financial Expenditure) are in place and accurate cost monitoring is performed

· Ensure stock levels and costs are accurately maintained

· Actively manage direct contractors and participate in Performance Reviews as applicable in operating area.

· Ensure a procurement schedule is maintained to meet drilling programme

· Ensure contracts are regularly reviewed to ensure fit for purpose
