Our client is an international upstream Oil & Gas company with the majority of its production carried out in North America, the North Sea and Southeast Asia and is committed to conducting its business safely, in an ethically, socially and environmentally responsible manner As Drilling Superintendent your main responsibilities will include Co-ordinate and supervise the activities of company personnel, the drilling contractor and service companies to ensure programmed objectives are met in a cost effective manner.Supervise the management of all well related events and inform the Well Construction Superintendent at an early stage of development of a situation to ensure that appropriate expertise is employed in it's resolution. Manage the logistics of the drilling operation in an efficient manner by:Ensuring service personnel are requested and arrive at the rig in a timely manner and that they depart the rig on completion of their work scope.Ensuring that materials and rental equipment arrive at the rig in a timely manner and that rental equipment is discharged from the rig promptly when no longer required.Ensure the drilling contractor and service companies are fully briefed as to the forward programme which will include at least one formal meeting per day.Prepare written instructions to supplement the approved programme. These instructions will be signed off by the Drilling Supervisor and Senior Toolpusher before being issued and will be retained in the well file for auditing purposes.Ensure that company reporting formats are usedSupervise the Offshore Drilling Engineer, ensure his/her tasks and responsibilities are clearly defined and that his/her reports are accurate.Be familiar with the approved programme, and use this to ensure that critical operations are adequately supervised and that potential problems are identified and contingency plans in place. Ensure all tools and drill string components are fit for purpose and compatible with the well and other components. Minimise rig downtime and optimise drilling performance.
