Senior Drilling Engineer Operator Germany My client is a leading European exploration and production company, established over 75 years ago and has more recently expanded its interests internationally to cover the core areas of Europe, North Africa and South America, as well as the Russian and Caspian Sea. The Role: The company currently seeks to appoint a Senior Drilling Engineer to operate with the Drilling and Production Team, based out of the German head office. The newly appointed individual will provide technical support to other teams internally, including project management, implementation of new technologies, innovative work practices and cost saving initiatives. You will be required to take a lead role in the preparation, introduction and implementation of an ambitious programme to improve the economics of my client's drilling activities. In doing so, you will oversee: the execution of SSVs; the introduction of new drilling-related technologies; new innovative working practices; cost saving initiatives; and the training and development of junior production staff. Key Responsibilities will include: - Providing specialist drilling services to existing and new business development operating teams. - Reviewing drilling aspects of new projects. - Planning and executing drilling operations of Single String Ventures. - Preparing, promoting and supporting the implementation of new drilling technologies, aimed at further improving the economics of field development activities. - Introducing new technologies e.g. UBD, Case Drilling and Deep Water Drilling. - Generation of cost saving initiatives. - Implementation of innovative working practices. - Liaising effectively with other departments within head office. - Adhering to drilling-related company policies and environmental ideals. - Assisting in the preparation and development of training programmes for both junior and experienced staff members. You: The ideal individual will demonstrate both North Sea and international drilling engineering experience of over 10 years. Academically, you must possess a degree in a relevant engineering subject, and be extremely literate. You must be able to work both autonomously, utilising your own initiative, and as part of a project team. Familiarity with drilling software and new technological developments is a pre-requisite, and business development skills would be an advantage. My client is a well known UK Operator with offices in London and Aberdeen. They currently seek to appoint a Well Team Leader to join them in the London office. The Role: With a team of Drilling Engineers and Technicians for whom you will be accountable, you will report directly to the Operations Manager. You will oversee the provision of technical, operational and commercial expertise in the preparation for, execution of and reporting on well operations. You will be tasked with providing a safe, cost effective well construction programme and to monitor the execution of the programme. Key responsibilities will include: - Preparation of technical and commercial sections of ITTs and analysis of returned bids for the selection of drilling rigs and third party services. - Liaison with client sub-surface team / management to define and agree the well objectives. - Well design including casing, directional, fluids, cementing, bits and hydraulics programming. - Preparation and approval of well construction programmes. - Liaison with key third party contractors. - Preparation of data for statutory submissions to regulatory authorities. - Preparation of and participation in risk assessment, hazard analysis and DWOP processes. - Preparation and processing of probabilistic models for well engineering projects. - Monitoring of daily cost tracking. - Keeping abreast of current health, safety and environmental legislative requirements. - Proactive management of all third party supply contracts - Supervision and management of direct reports. Starts and examines operation of mud pumps in order to ensure circulation and consistency of drilling fluid or mud in well Locates and recovers lost or broken bits, casings and drill pipes from wells, using special tools.
