They are currently recruiting for the position of PDMS Administrator Coordinator, based in Houston. Job Description Develop Project PDMS Execution Plans Follow established PDMS standards Setup the PDMS and related systems Coordinate Support Teams (EDMS, SPI, etc.) Maintain the PDMS project Provide direction and support to designers Facilitate Design Reviews Provide ad hoc reports from PDMS or related databases Troubleshoots the most complex and difficult system problems. Identifies and analyses problem areas; develops alternate solutions for resolution; selects and implements most efficient and economical correction Develops staffing schedules to ensure the most advantageous utilisation of available equipment. Assists in developing plans for hardware and/or software purchases Coordinate Engineering Design Systems support teams Oversees the development of new software and the support of existing software Responds to the CAD operators for new systems to meet current and future needs Keeps abreast of new and developing technologies and how they might be adapted for use within the Company. Coordinates installation of new systems with user schedules Oversees and provides technical support for customised tools, utilities and scripts to automate work processes and improve CAD productivity and efficiency; oversees and participates in performing daily maintenance on CAD databases, including researching and reconciling inconsistencies and variations in data Analyses and evaluates processes for utilising computer-aided design and drafting software, database information systems and other related software and hardware to support engineering processes, analyses and reporting capabilities Trains new users and provides refresher courses for more experienced CAD operators Assists in guiding lower level CAD Analysts within the unit. May assist in establishing budgets for hardware lease/purchase May monitor expenditures and report status of the budget to management on a regular basis Skills & Experience BA/BS degree in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent or relevant experience Extensive experience in field; considerable supervisory and/or management experience Manages work directly and indirectly through Managers or Professionals leading others The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to senior level management is critical Ability to persuade and influence others is critical Participative management style with a cooperative team approach Proven leadership skills in multi-cultural and possibly multi-national environments Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment Manages lower level managers or supervisors or professionals leading others This is a contract position. *PROJECT MANAGER - LABORATORY* Our client is a leading engineering contractor operating on a global scale. They are currently working on a new and modern R&D facility. This facility is based in China and our client is searching for a Project Manager with an Architectural background to lead their design team. The Project Manager, who will report directly to the Project Director, will be responsible for the management and supervision of a widely varied group made up of both local and international consultants. The Project Manager will also provide and facilitate the crucial tie between clients, consultants and local design teams. Upon completion of the design, the Project Manager is expected to shift into the procurement support and construction phase of the project. Role requirements: *Assuming a leading role in all meetings with team members, consultants and the LDI (Local Design Institute) *Monitor scheduling issues relating to the designs and proactively providing solutions *Review all design submissions at critical milestones in the project plan alongside the technical team. Feedback must also be provided for unsatisfactory work of any kind *Coordinate the interfaces associated with a number of architectural components including glass walls, curtain walls, marble work, metal cladding, architectural detailing, etc *Support and assist the Project Director when producing the Project Quality Plan. Such elements that must be included are method statements, work instructions, procedures and Inspection & Test plans *Supervise inspections and testing throughout the project, whilst also reviewing said inspections Education, Qualification & Experience requirements: *Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or similar *The ideal candidate will preferably be a registered architect *At least 15 years of post-graduate experience in building design and architecture (previous work experience in China is advantageous) *Highly proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office without support and supervision *3D and BIM software experience is beneficial In addition to these qualifications, candidates should also have previous experience with managing a group of consultants in order to meet difficult deadlines. Furthermore, experience with multinational design companies based in China is desirable. The Project Manager should be self-motivated and able to lead a multi-disciplinary team. You should have strong communication skills, and be able to communicate with all levels (the ability to speak Mandarin is advantageous) The Project Manager must also have a strong ability to motivate and train team members. Execute design and draughting activities (Concept, FEED, Technical Study & Detailed Design) Prepare Plant Layout and Piping drawings and design deliverables to the required technical quality with minimum input from engineering personnel Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Standards and procedures Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule Visit the Assets and carry out site surveys when necessary
